I just got the micro beast installed and have two flights under my belt. Overall, I am impressed with this unit.
I am not a flashing, blinking, change in color kind of guy, but the set up experience was not that bad. Just read the manual all 50+ pages first. Else you will end up plugging servos in before you set them up. AND down load the servo spec sheet on uBeasts web site, if don't see your servo do some research for the specs before you begin.
After you set the unit up, you need to set the collective pitch(pitch curves) and throttle curves, but not the cyclic pitch. At first, I thought I missed a step. But, nope I was good.
This unit flew well in 20+ winds and felt locked in. I didn't notice any strange tendencies. The flip and roll rates were great "out of the box". I didn't feel the need to do any tweaking. The unit has five different flying styles built in. I was on 3 with 1 being beginner and 5 being expert. You also have the option to adjust the parameters via the radio if you so desire.
I think that this unit is as close to plug and play as you can get.
