Hey.. its his sickness too now.. he has to assume some responsibility! lol

SCALE ROCKS!

Thanks doorman.. looks like we might get some MUCH NEEDED rain here in IL so practice is out today. That would be just fine with me. My lawn is TOAST and corn here is popped.. Not looking so great.

I just spent another 240 bucks on the fricking fracking column lock issues GM has had with their Corvettes now for what.. over 10 years.. Happy bday to me.. lol...

But.. Life is good.. We have our heath, family and internet buds!

Lets FLY!

Michael,

The only problem I have with my Corvette is that I can't fit a large scale heli into it. If I was flying 450 sized birds, it would be no big deal, other than, I would be reluctant to actually drive it to my local field. The road at the field itself is somewhat rough. Good for jeeps. Bad for low riding Corvettes. I did see a trailer hitch attached to a Corvette once. That seems so wrong, I don't know where to even go with that...

Happy Birthday. See you in a few weeks.

TURBINE Clinics
I just asked Chris Bergen and he said the clinic would be held around 10-11 on Thursday and then the flying part would be held after lunch.

We are finalizing the schedules so like Stan said keep checking the IRCHA website.

Hello guys,

I just finished a 500 Super Cobra which I covered in a build thread over on HF (well, finished except for the scale aux fuel tanks I am fabricating - but should have them ready). Was thinking I'd like to bring it to IRCHA just for kicks. Don't plan to fly, just set it on the display table. Not a true builder's build, but I enjoyed the project just the same, and added a few touches to add some more scale details I'd like to show. I might learn something from the comments! LOL! Thought another bird never hurts, eh?

What else is involved in joining the party? I registered for the event so I could fly my other birds.

Thanks,
Rob

BANG..

Joel nailed it.

Ask questions.

Ya know. I dont hunt or fish. I dont watch sports.

If you ask a baceball nut about baceball what do you expect to hear. YEP..baceball.

Ask a Heli Scale nut about Scale Helis and.. well you get the idea.

COME AND HANG OUT! Ask questions and show your work. We can all learn something!

Display Only?????
Don't plan to fly, just set it on the display table

So, why would you only want to display it??? You know that the "gang" is going to want to see it fly!!!!

Actually, Joel misled you a bit... We will be teaching him the secret hand shake at this years event!!!!! To Funny!!!

Nothing wrong with bringing it to display, but you should be prepared for the requests to see it go!!!! And where better to get advice and help, if you have questions, or you need help with the final set up... that is what we are there for... come see and learn, teach (brag a LOT), and HAVE FUN!!!!!!

Looking forward to seeing you there!!! Stan

This is going to be great. I have not seen or heard this much excitement about IRCHA Scale in a long time and not just from the regulars. The count down is on and I can't wait to see all the old friends as well as all of the new folks coming. This will be one great week. Don't forget that after all of this fun that in the middle of September we can do it all again in Dalton, GA. Don't break anything and everyone have a safe trip to Muncie. Regards, Gayl

Today I flew my new RCA 600 size MD500 G-JIVE. I put a Century Hawk Pro with a OS37 in it. I'm going to bring it with me just to show it off. Will bring fuel and all just in case I can work up the courage to fly it.
Jimmy, If it looks like a heli I like it.

What TIME on Friday (17th) will static start?
I've reread through the posts and just wanted to confirm what TIME on Frday, Aug 17th will the scale competition begin? I haven't been able to find any exact timetables on this link or IRCHA's site yet? I'm assuming 8:00 a.m., but I'll probably be so excited I won't sleep much anyway and show up at 7:00 a.m. just because of the adrenaline rush .

It's going to be a tough drive up from TN on Thursday knowing things are already happening without me. At least I can make the actual contest this year, I believe last year the judging happened mid-week and I missed it by assuming it would be on the weekend .

Also, I'm planning on bringing two petrol sized Vario models and I'm not sure what's available regarding tabletop space? At other events I've been to most guys bring their own tables/tents, but I noticed from attending last year's event that there was limited floor space to do this at IRCHA to begin with. I'm just not sure what the protocall is for setting up as I'll arrive on Friday and I don't want to "crowd out" or take someone's spot who's already been there for the previous 3-4 days.

Thanks,

David

Thanks for the help. I've not yet maidened the Cobra I am bringing. I've flown the mechanics, and it was terrific. But I've not tried to fly it yet with the fuselage. I certainly could before the event, but would almost prefer not to risk damage until I've had a chance to show it at least once. Plus, my Dad introduced me to helis back in the early 70's when they first appeared and we will be together Saturday, so I'd like him to see it as well before I put it in the air. It will be fun enough for me just to have it among the other creations.Rob
