I agree, I was referencing posts in this thread where people are expecting their heli to fly better with the silver sensor, which I seriously doubt will be the case.

Your right it will not. To be blunt if you have vibes you better spend your time getting rid of them NOT putting a sensor on that better ignores the PROBLEM you have.

I agree.

well you would think that they would have made the new sensor with a clear window so people could sit there and stare at their new sensor chip for hours on end !!!

But i would rather ignore the problem then fix it, it's much easier and as far as the "blunt" go's i'm sorry but i don't do drugs !!! lol i'm just kidding about ignoring problems of course.....

A vbar "magic" is in the software. Always has been. Sensor sends signal but then you have to do something with them.
You can have the greatest mind in the world, but being blind, deaf and dumb won't get you very far. Don't delude yourself by thinking the sensor is not that important. It is! Anyone who got the Futaba CGY750 flying right understands the value of these new sensors.

History certainly tells us that we can ignore this statement outright.

OTOH, the Vbar far outperforms the 750, at least right now, even with an inferior sensor. Shortly I'm going to be officially prohibited from talking about it further after making a phone call, but the 750's problem apparently isn't hardware related....

Sorry about that - that was prior to possibly entering a non-disclosure agreement. It fell through, but I still consider myself not at liberty to talk about it (the other party may still want to keep it confidential anyway).

Meanwhile... er, how about that new Vbar? I'm soooo sorely tempted....

It's because he is dumb! He doesn't appear to be too intelligent either. I'm sure the dumb one didn't get the Tommy reference.

The blind, deaf and dumb analogy in my previous post was that the brain gets it's information from the 5 senses. Blind and deaf means you are missing the senses of sight and hearing. The dumb part was the inability to speak or communicate information. The control unit of the V-bar needs good information from the sensor to do its job best. If it doesn't get good information it won't matter how good the firware is.

Heh, sorry Chopper, I always honor my commitments . I will just say that Futaba seems to be aware of a basic problem in their 750 firmware and is working on fixing it.

So it looks like all of us who've had problems with it - the wobbling in particular - turned out to be right all along.

I'm keeping my units in the event a new firmware appears. If the problem is fixed, well, then obviously I'll have 2 great FBL units to work with. If not, well, I'll happily continue to buy its competitors lol.

But, back to the topic, now that the Vbar is equipped with a better sensor, it may be unstoppable...

No problemo....

But back to the Vbar and self-levelling, I have no idea what they'd come up with there. They're already way out in front of the pack, tho, with their software so who knows.
I've harped on it before, but their setup method already has safety features that some of the others don't. In particular, figuring out the compensation directions automatically by imposing certain restrictions during setup (i.e. the exact position of the sensor, servos plugged into exactly the right functions, which swash movement direction increases pitch, etc).

And now that the sensor hardware is on par, it's almost the only choice in the $300+ space. I'm talking myself into the new sensor, you see.. I've had a little wierdness with the old one...

Why? for the 1/10 th percent of the ppl who would need it. Only usefulness is for learning. If you want self leveling get the new align system.
