Engine shut off
Hi all,
I am experiencing this problem with a 600N V2 LE.
Running an Align 2 in 1 Reg.
OS Max 55HZ Hyper engine
OS PowerBoost pipe
Align Lipo High Power 40C / 7.4V 1900mAh 14Wh
Power Master/VPRacing 30% Heli - 23% Oil
Spektrum DX8 with the Spektrum AR7200BX Flibarless Receiver + Sat

This is a new setup and has not burned a complete gallon of nitro.
The engine just turns off by itself 4 or 5 minutes into the flight. Lucky I am just learning my hovers and small-slow figure 8's so I was able to autorotate and no damage was done. This happened before with stock #8 OS plug on 2 flights.
As per the instructor's advise I changed the plug (#3 Enya) and installed an OS Bubbleless clunk.
Today trying new setup it happened again. It shut off 3 times in a row while in a hover. The temp is fine as I can touch the back-plate for over 6 seconds without burning, and there is plenty of smoke. The batteries have a charge (The 2 in 1 shows 3 lights on and one green) and the lipo was charged before the flight. The TX DX8 battery is at 5.1V

What could be causing this sudden engine power cut off?
What else should I look for?

Thanks in advanced for your suggestions.

You might have a puncture in your fuel line in the tank itself.
Once the fuel drops below that mark, it just sucks air.
OR,
Your seal around the "bung"..the rubber that fits into the tank, is no good.

Just guesses - but if this is happening well into the flight, the above would do it.

Best to check ALL your lines, just to cover everything, including the Align filter, to be sure it's real tight.

If you are for certain that your engine is tune right, I will say check all your fuel supply lines this include the tank. Are you using fuel filter between the tank and the carb? is so, please double check that and make sure is tight with no leaks. some that can cause nightmares...Fly hard, Land safe

I have had the pin hole issue on the pick up line in the tank. It caused exactly the same scenario.

A hole in the fuel line on the inside of the tank can cause this. It will work fine until it gets to the air leak then it leans out and dies.

If it quits at the same time (same fuel level), just replace the fuel line in the tank.

good luck with the fix.

Found the problem!!
As many of you pointed out, the problem was the Align 3 Way filter.
We removed the filter element, left only the empty filter case, and no more shutting off.

Thanks to all who replied, because as per your suggestions we concentrated looking between the clunk and the carb.

Thanks again.
