All,

This week-end is the Teledo show. Want to feel this radio.......
Just ask; it will be working on this heli.

Well it looks great but what does it offer to make you a better pilot specifically ?Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

All,

What makes you a better heli pilot, Start with a great radio and burn some fuel.

Good theory for sure ,,but I know of guys running Old 72 AM radio's that will make you think twice . The radio does not make the pilot.

You know that...

Looks like a great radio Jeff. We just did an interview wth John Redman the is week and he discussed the radio a good bit. I want to get one for the data logging. Think Horizon would trade me a DX18 for a DX8 and DX7s?

I'll probably see you at Toledo on Saturday.

Jeff, let me know what area fun flies you plan on going to this year.

Not sure why anyone would think a radio would make someone a better pilot?

""The radio does not make the pilot""

you mean like an air brushed Canopy, maybe not, but a better Radio can produce a better setuped heli, resulting in a smoother and better flying heli,
I know I can fly a better setuped heli than I can fly a badly setuped heli !!

this is the way I see it, like a Tx Box with your brands name on it, or higher costing Fuel , or an air brushed Canopy, may not make you a better pilot, but if you can afford them, and want them, go for it

I agree ,,If you can afford it go for it! Where is more information on this radio? What does it do other than more channels? More telemetry?

From my point of view though,,I wouldn't get a first run of anything especially that complex and run my expensive stuff on it till all the bugs are out of it.

Now that I have to agree with. All good points. I like the DX18 for the extra channels in case I want to go scale with my turbine, but until it is proven and all the potential bugs worked out I will stick with my trusty 9303. On the other hand for the relatively decent price I may pick one up for my other heli's/quads to try out the telemetry etc. I love the SD backup for when I brain fart and wipe out a model memory... Doh!!!!

I have a 9303 2.4 too . For me it is all the radio I would ever need but I have never had telemetry or what ever else they offer now.
I hope when I see it though I won't feel like I have to have it.

for me the radio does make me a better pilot,
it's not about channels or features,
It is about comfort and the way a radio fits in my hand.

thats why i use a 12x it is heavy, fits in my hand perfectly,
and feels smooth as silk.

i have set up and flown quite a few helis for other people
with different radios.
the feel is not the same.

However I held the dx18 and I could get use to it
it feels good and has more room for fat fingers between the flight mode and hold switches.
