Help Hyperion users why all the errors?
I keep getting connection error when I try to charger my two new Nanotech 5000 45C packs and I have no idea why? My Hyperion 720 Super Duo 1000W charger often gives me error messages as time has gone on (never did it when it was new) so my question is why the Nanotech’s? I checked all the cells all six are reading good with my Hyperion balance checker, next up I used my volt meter to check the current coming out of the deans all good so why the connection error?

My buddy who has allot less expensive charger’s (Hobby King’s) charged the packs with no issues at all is my charger bad?

What are the errors you are getting? What version of firmware are you running? do you get the same errors if you charge other batteries? If I had a little more information I could probably help you.

i had errors like that a while back and it turned out to be the balance connecter wires at the battery started breaking off the battery from moving the balance connecter around too much.

i don't know if that's what's happening here but it might be......

My opinion after using this charger for several months is that the plugs, jacks and harnesses do not have tight enough tolerances. Everyone always tells you to replace the balance boards and harnesses to fix the intermittent error codes.

Also, you really need to be at 5.52 firmware to eliminate some of the errors. I have replaced all my balance boards and connecting harnesses and I still have cell voltage errors due to a bad connection right at port II. All I have to do is wiggle that plug and the voltage goes from 2.6 or whatever it was reading to near the same as the rest. This happens in maybe about 25% of my charge cycles. Good luck, let us know if you find a solution that works over a long period of time.

why don't you just pull each wire end out of the plug one at a time and tighten them up a bit and put them back into the connector and if that was the prob you should be good to go.....    ▲

I really should try that. However, years ago when I worked on electronic gear that type of fix didn't always work long term. Especially with harness's that get pushed and pulled a bit during their regular duty cycle. If the plugs need to be tightened to work properly, they will probably loosen again over time. Nonetheless, a good suggestion, thanks.

First of all,

Does the error stay on one channel or happen on both?
If happen on both, does it stay with same pack?
If happen on one channel, swap the cables and try again, does it now stay on same channel or follow the cable you just swapped.

I have a firmware which has better tolerances (not so sensitive) but it's not ready for release just yet, but if you want to beta-test, let me know.

It’s a connection error message I keep getting and the charger alarm keeps sounding 50-60% of the time. I do a reset and it happens again I change sides and it’s ok (no matter the side). Again it never did this when it was new it’s gotten worse over time thru continued charging/cycling of packs.

So there is a new firmware? Do you think it would work? Do you think I should change the balance boards?
