Another school appeasing the left
http://www.ktu.com/cc-common/news/s...326&feed=104668

From the news story:
The Stall Brook Elementary School in Bellingham removed the word “God” from Lee Greenwood’s, “God Bless the U.S.A.” The song was reportedly changed to, “We love the U.S.A.” Then, following outrage, the school pulled the song all together from a fourth-grade assembly.

But it is ok for the right to added "under God" to the original Pledge of Allegiance?

Talk about forcing ones beliefs on others.

Even though some tried, that law was never reversed because it was not promoting a specific religion.

If you don't like it, why don't you make your own pledge?

That way, you can consider yourself a modern progressive lefty.

There was no "Right" back then, only the people who loved this great country and were willing to die for her. They also knew what the Constitution and Declaration of Independence said and meant.

The Pledge of Allegiance of the United States is an expression of loyalty to the federal flag and the republic of the United States of America, originally composed in 1892. Just so you don't have a liberal hissy fit, the words "under God" were added in 1954 so we can maintain the correct history of the Pledge.

Psycho...I try with you...I really do. You're kinda neutral with some stuff. I'm not a religous person, but to deny that a belief in God is not what this country is founded on, is just stupid. I like that my country is faith based. That faith does not portend killing anybody that doesn't believe, like, say the Muslims. Choose you poison pal.
Christianity or Islam???? Answer the fookin' question.

This country was founded by slave owners and people that killed and raped the locals then stole their lands. I really doubt God would have appreciated that to much. How can a group of people write a document that starts off saying that all men are created equal, but yet at the end of the day they go home to their slaves and their wives that have no say in anything.

Seriously, look at what they were actually doing back then and tell me with all honesty that you think God would have agreed with what they did to create this country that was not theirs to begin with?

You might want to do a little background on our founding fathers to see what their religious beliefs actually were. You and others might be surprised by what they have written in regards to religion.

I don't think that God would be happy with government policies that keep women bare foot and pregnant by making them have kids to get handouts either.
Or school policies that keep kids stupid and brainwashed to liberal ideals.
Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

There have been WARS throughout the ages and the Spoils go the Victors All wars involve 2 or more groups of people, they fight, kill and mame then the winners get the land and the loosers go off with their tail between their legs. Sometimes they are allowed to stay sometime not. Thats the way it works like or not!!!

I have said it before. The problem with this country is that we have become TOO civilized and we worry about peoples FEELINGS to much.

LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT. Not everybody gets their way all the time. Except in the USA. WHINE enough and you will get your way. GET OVER IT!!!

Psycho: fine. How many people own slaves NOW??!!! That's the problem with this place. Everybody is so hung up on things that happened 1-2 centuries ago. Neither side of my blood was here until the early 20th century, so neither myself, or any of my ancestors had anything to do with killing the red man or owning slaves.
Simple question (and rarely answered by a liberal): are the blacks that live here better off for their ancestors coming here under those conditions??? Of course. It's wrong that it happened...no doubt. But if it hadn't, where would those people be now??? Living in Sudan, Somalia???
Now the indians, those are people that have a real complaint and we're still not doing right by them. We are in some ways, but it just plays into some of their own weaknesses as a race.
Giving them oodles of money via Casinos so they can drink themselves to death has not been much help to them.

PS - on the whole "GOD" thing...where does it say when you pledge, or handle our money, etc., that God means the Christian God??? Simple, it doesn't. Now if it were to say "Jesus", then you've got a gripe

Then people need to stop falling on the old, our founding fathers this and our founding fathers that. What they did would not be accepted now. I am not the one hung up on what happened back then, but I am tired of people thinking they were so great, when in reality what they did was wrong and hateful in so many ways.

They created this country, our constitution, and our bill of rights.

I would say that that is great.

What the heck is so hateful about that?

I guess the white man was supposed to stay put and leave this place for the Indians. They'd still be huntin' buffalo and chuckin' spears at each other. Same with the Africans.
The point is Psycho, this whole country was founded on those "pieces of paper". We're not a Democracy, we're a Republic. I'm sure you know the difference, but the fact of the matter is, 95% of Americans think we're a Democracy. Thank god we're not.

While it is a fact that the democrats owned many slaves until the republicans fought the civil war to free them, this country was founded by people looking for religious freedom from despot rulers like the one that we have right now! Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

To post a statement like this it is totally obvious that you are reading some liberal's opinion and writings about the founding fathers and you have never read anything directly from the source (original writings). You may want to do a little reading from actual writings of the founding fathers and see who they truly were.
but I am tired of people thinking they were so great, when in reality what they did was wrong and hateful in so many ways.
You really have no clue about American History do you? What is your opinion on the Three-Fifths Compromise found in Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 3 of the United States Constitution?
