flybarless pitches up on full pitch punch
hi guys
im new to flybarless so bear with me lol!
ive fitted the align 3g unit updated to 3.0
,then set it up has manual says went to test fly and the first thing i noticed was the heli pitched up on a full pitch punch and then pitched down on a full pitch punch down !! dont no why it did this so landed and had a look at my swash only to find that my elevator servo didnt move at the same speed has my aileron servos yet in dir mode they all traveled at the same speed !!
is this normal for flybaless ? if not then what am i doing wrong?

please can some one help

many thanks mark

I had a 3G system on a 450 SE do the same thing, but when I took it off and installed a 3GX system in it's place, All 3 servos worked at the same speed. I can only assume that my 3G was bad - or I was missing something in the setup.

Are you servo arms level at half stick? Make sure the end points for the 3 swash servos are at 100 both directions. When setting the elevator and aileron cyclic limits in the 3G unit make sure you are at half stick with a linear pitch curve. Also are all 3 servos the same? That's all I can think of right now. When in DIR mode how does it work? That takes the 3G unit out and runs directly to receiver. If it only acts up in flying mode to me it would be the unit. Good luck. Chuck

Hey Mark.

What main blades are you using? I found the little 450's very prone to pitching up, specifically in fast forward flight.
V3 didn't impress me very much at all, so if your able to downgrade to V2.1 which was much better on the cyclics, I have a good settings file you can write to the 3G which gets rid of the pitchyness with FBL main blades.

I wouldn't say the unit is faulty though, it is just a settings problem that will get much better when dialled in.
The hiller and Bell sliders, along with the collective pitch compensate slider amount other parameters all effect the pitch up effect of the model.

Hey Mark.

Are you flying the stock expert settings? These won't be all that good out of the box unfortunately, requiring tweeking of the parameters for most models.

From what you're describing its just a settings issue, rather than say a vibration or other problem.

In DIR did you level the servos accurately at mid stick and did you use any sub trim?
I always advise against using sub trim as much as possible, on the larger machines its easier as you can keep rotating the servo wheels until the control balls are aligned correctly.

I have some nice 550 3G settings which work well on larger models to, when I am next on my pc I'll post them.
