Blade MCP X feathering shaft!
Does anyone else keep bending the feathering shaft on these. I have bent three now, I hit throttle hold prior to a crash. I use the center hub of the head to push the main gear back in. Any other ideas, I am really getting frustrated on this one. I can't fly because it has bad vibrations even with a brand new spindle, new blade grips, freshly cleaned servos, grommet mod. Please someone help me!!!

Have you gone brushless? If so, perhaps the extra power is causing issues?

I'm running completely stock with the exception of a MicroHeli swash. I got lot of vibrations with the stock swash after a few crashes (even with grommets), but with the MH swash, there is no oscillation or vibration, even in FFF with the non-bullet blades.

I had to put the grommets on the MH swash to get it to stop doing the "wet dog shake" in FFF, but it has been amazing since doing that.

I am still on the original feathering shaft and I've done my share of crashing (on grass and as you said, with throttle hold before "impact" ;~)

EDIT: Additionally, check to be sure that the flat side of the main shaft is in the flat area of the spur gear. Mine got "twisted" once and that also caused vibration.

I found that using aftermarket blades make the feathering shaft last longer. The stockers don't fold up so well, so it hits resistance. KBDDs and a couple others will pivot back all the way and absorb more energy in a crash.

At least that's my findings.

I had bad vibrations a couple weeks ago and I thought it was dirty servos as well. I did a FULL grommet mod on mine. The original mod used half grommets on the swash balls. On the remaining swash balls, use full grommets. This way both upper and lower swash balls have grommets. Also use full grommets on the blade grip ball links. I also changed out my main shaft and main gear. That was an easy fix that took all of ten minutes. It is very hard to see, and sometimes impossible....however in a crash the main grip usually turns on the main shaft, and as we all know you have to turn the main gear back so the open part is lined up with the flat spot. After about 20 crashes or so the main shaft will begain to just ever so slightly round off the flat spot. This makes it so the main gear does not grip the main shaft as tight as when brand new. Change them both out, do the FULL grommet mod and see if that solves your problem....I know it did for meFly it like your stole it!!!!!

One of the best things you can do is trim the stock blades so they fold completely back. That will help prevent bent feathering spindles on stock machines. The required trimming will not weaken the blades. You will find that KBDD blades fold all the way back out of the package. If your not sure how much to trim, you could buy a set of KBDD blades and use them as a template.

Thanks for all of the tips everyone. I will give them a try once I get my paycheck and then I will post the outcome. I sure do hope that I can get this thing lined out.

yes trim the stock blades so they fold back like the kbbd's and set your throttle hold pitch curve flat across the board ;-)topcopter productions
