YGE or Jive 120
Will be for my TDR. Which would be better for my setup, if YGE and Jive are the SAME price.

Vbar
XERA 4530 or Pyro 700-520L (got both will pick one)
JR servos

Thank you,

Jive is the more common esc for Tdr
There isn't a lot of room for add ons. You can put a bec on the side of the frame but I prefer the all in one of the jive with built in great bec. Your choice though. I would go 160 if you choose yge

I have a YGE in my tdr paired with a xera 4530 running vbar gov and a WR bec. Couldn't be happier with its performance.

The most distinguishing between Jive and YGE is the set up procedure. The Jive kontronik is very simple to set up and has an excellent governor mode, while YGE is a bit difficult to set up and the governor mode is not that good. But on the other hand, YGE has a build in antispark device while Kontronik not. For flyers which have experience with Kontronik will go for Kontronik while for others who hasn't are going for YGE, just because the lower price of YGE

Doesn't the YGE have built phase sensor for Vbar gov?

The only way to use Vbar gov with Jive is to use the latest Heli Jive V11 along with an external phase sensor that can be pretty messy to wire up & power.

50% failure rate on Jives? Lets see some proof or stop making baseless claims. With a sample size of 2, maybe, otherwise I hardly believe that. If that is a case CC has a failure rate of 99.9%.Team MyColdHardCash

I have 4 120 Jives & 2 of them have given me 7 blinks for no reason, other than hooking them up to fly. This has all happened within a year.
Kontronik's answer is reverse polarity no warranty. The way mine are wired its impossible to reverse the polarity. Ready Heli stepped in & took care of the problem.

Ok, so that is YOUR failure rate, not a 50% failure rate for the public at hand, big difference. I honestly have no clue on what caused your problems, but RH is always a great place for their customers and always take care of them.Team MyColdHardCash

The Jive has a reverse polarity diode in it which gets damaged during a commutation failure. This is one cause of the 7 flashes. I believe that Kontronik engineers are working on using a more resistant diode so that this doesn't happen anymore. But so long as you're using EC5 connectors, the Jive should be replaced under warranty.

Did you definitively receive a letter from Kontronik after you send both of your ESCs to them in Germany denying your warranty claim? And then after Kontronik returned the ESCs to you, did you send both of those ESCs to ReadyHeli to have them replaced under warranty?

Or did you just assume that Kontronik would deny your warranty replacement claim?

Please elaborate.
