It would be nice to see some pictures. It might be wise to update the electronics if you are going to fly it to more modern servos (today they are more precise and powerful).

I would strongly suggest a gyro for it. If you do have the budget, you may want to update the engine as well but that would be last on the list.

Hey GreyGoose, here is my two cents. You have a nice bird there that you either can't get parts for or they will be very hard to find. You are also going to spend a lot of time finishing the fuse. According to your profile you are new to heli's, don't fly it until you are very good at hovering, forward flight and can save it from a dumb thumb mistake. The bird was designed for the engine power at the time it was made. If you put a more powerful engine in it you could rip up its gears. If funds are a concern, watch ebay for a mechanical gyro in very good condition, I know they are obsolete but they will still work on a bird that doesn't do 3d. The last one I bought cost Five bucks.Champion,Magic,MiniBoy,Xcell60+50,Intrepid,Intrepid Gas,Baron30,Whisper,300X,mCPXv1v2,Concept,Nexus

Kalt Helicopter
Lee

Helibeast is right and I must support his every word. If you are new to helicopters you will destroy the Kalt the first time you try and use it. The mechanics require careful setting up so as to be controllable and even then they are not the easiest of machines. I have a number of early kalts and so know all about them.

If you really do want to learn then I have the perfect modern learning machine that I no longer need and would swap you for the Kalt.

PM me if interested.

40 SIZE kALTJET RANGER
I was at the FIRST helo Nats with a Kavan Jet Ranger (I'm from an Atlanta suburb).

A young Japanese fellow from Hawaii was there with a 40 size Kalt Jet Ranger. They were not available in the States. He got it from family in Japan.

I was working a lot on the road then. I thought I could take one on the road with me. At the time,I hunted and hunted for one because they were so cute and small but never found one.

Helibeast is again right....Save the Kalt...it is too special to tear up.

LMAO, say enough stuff and your bound to be right every now and again.

Even a broken watch has the right time twice a day.

If your going to fly the bird I suggest that you start looking for parts right now. I have had hard landings that stripped the main gear. Without a spare one, your bird is just a static display.

Here is an example. I have a Kalt Baron 20, I actually have three but two are just back up parts birds. That is why I still fly it. The same goes with my Champion.
