If I'm not mistaken, Jetcat wants you to send all engine repairs to them. So it may be difficult to find someone who's actually pulled one apart.

Bob Wilcox at Jetcat USA is VERY helpful, but he'll probably tell you to send it in also.

If it was a Wren, I could help you out.

How are you going to re ballance the shaft, when you relace the wheel

they wont sell parts ... if i need any parts at a later date ill try to find a maybe crashed p60 to salvage parts from, sapart from that jetcat wont supply me parts...if i need a part i cant get, ill retire the mechanics and go jakadofsky

its already been balanced..im just going to press it back on in the same position i took it off ..no problem, everything is marked in the original positions..not a big deal

Turbines be they fitted to full size aircraft or models are not toys to be messed around with. If you do not have the relevant engineering knowledge or prowess I would stay well clear. This comes as a polite warning.

What is your beef with Jetcat?

There is a reason why JetCat will not sell individual parts and in your country it's called liability or litigation.

We also know that JetCat USA are not interested in servicing the heli units as it's too time consuming and requires more speciallised test equipment than is required for normal thrust engine - is this not telling you something ?

Getting a P60 for spares will not help you in anyway as that's the wrong engine.
Also, if you decide to change to a Jakadofsky, where are you going to get it serviced as Starwood will no longer be trading by then.
You will still have the same problem with parts as they also will not supply individual parts.

In the time you have spent messing about with this engine, it could have been to Germany and back by now and completely modified at no cost to you other than getting it there.
No point sending it back now as it will almost certainly incure a large charge just to correct the engine back to normal condition.

I would suggest that anyone being around this machine when it is tried again - please be ware !

That's my last comments on this thread - I'm outta here.

The torch and press method of turbine repair does not sound advisable. Although i havent tried to repair one. You probably aren't even using the proper turbine sledge hammer. Which I think is metric for JC.
Also, if you decide to change to a Jakadofsky, where are you going to get it serviced as Starwood will no longer be trading by then.
The turn around time for Jakadofsky is weeks, not months. Austria and back.

modtron, its really nice of you to strafe and run, thats why i dont like publicizing my stuff, i really hate to dissapoint you all, but its back together, it runs flawlessly with no vibration...because in spite of everyone thinking im a moron who flies by the seatr of his pants...which i do...i own a dual plane dynamic balancer...but chose to balance by hand..i really take offense to all of you who just have to beat on someone for doing their own work, and if screw it up, its ok , because i can afford to buy another. and another and another.

i was never planning on letting jetcat touch this turbine again for your information, so no skin off my back..

modtron do me a favor and stay the hell away from any of my threads and me and ill do the same for you....
