I had a Grasshopper and upgraded it to a Hornet

If I remember correctly, the Frog had a better suspension setup than the Grasshopper/Hornet but was plagued with gearbox problems.

My first was a Tamiya Super Champ... Then came the Grasshopper, Boomerang, Bigwig, Bruiser, Blackfoot, Kyosho Turbo Optima etc., Etc. The only one I have left is a Tamiya Porsche 956 that I will never sell. I would love to find a nice roller or parts nest for it and a body to rehab...

I still have mine Rough Rider. Second one from the left. It has an plastic box that protects all the electronics under the shell. Later on I also got the Frog. 3rd and 4th from the left. Still have all my old toys .

Brings back good memories.

I still have a bunch of NOS Hot Trick hop up parts for those cars. Maybe I should list it in the for sale section.Gerry Cullan,

Tamiya have seem to fix the problem with the gears they had on the frog, found out they can only run 7.2v packs as 8.4v is to big to fit the car,was hoping for a bit more power,i have the E firestorm flux by hpi brushless motor, serious power, would be great to have it in the frog.

I had The Frog as my first car but the half shafts always seemed to be an issue in the day. Maybe I should get one of the new re releases just for old time sake. One mile of road will take you one mile. One mile of runway will take you anywhere in the world.

I had the hot shot that i slowly spent all the money i worked for
a mcdonalds as a kid to upgrade it to a super shot
then got the techni gold motor to run on the 8.4 v ..

that was lots of fun, they didn't have the electronic speed controlers
at the time and kept frying the stock ones...
