Ahh the good 'ol YS flame out. They're finicky for sure, my 91 3ds did that back in the winter, was just from being cold, gotta warm it up some.

Did you use sealer on the muffler? If you did, remove all of it, install new glo plug, and go fly.Dave

That will do it. Same thing happened to me. Some of the sealer has squeezed inside and ends up getting inside the glo plug.

Some more details please. Is this a brand new engine first time running or is it one that has been running?

What fuel are you using? Is it fresh or did it sit around during the winter?

What glow plug?

I have one of the YS and once the needles are set it runs fine. How about your tank? Is it making and holding pressure?

looks like thumpernator is the winner here. i pulled the motor after trying a known good check valve to no avail. pulled the head off and noticed the RTV on the piston and bits floatn around. gonna clean it up and test it out here shortly. will report back. BTW thanks for all the replys. be back shortlyTT X50 Nitro

Dont forget to check out the diaphragm if rtv has into it, then you may end up with a blockage aswell.Mongoose

Ditch the RTV seal. That will get in the motor and create air leaks a around the muffler. It is impossible to tune with an air leak.

The mufflers do NOT need it.

One other possibility
I have only seen this once, but it created a tuning issue. The engine would die at lift off.

The guy had over seven degrees of pitch at zero stick. The engine was loading up before it ever got up to speed.

Just thought I'd through that out there.

if you still have problems with muffler coming loose... after you have warmed the engine up...first~ and then retightened bolts... afterward because that will account for the engine expanding from the heat and bolts not getting fully tight... that should work but if it doesnt you can always go old school on it like me~lol... and honestly it works great and that is too just use some regular old general purpose epoxy you get from walmart and use it instead of rtv...just make sure you clean both surfaces off first with like 90 alcohol...or acetone...or it wont stick right~

Also consider that the fuel line to the check valve is the proper length.RIP Roman Pirozek Jr.
