Whiplash canopy fast mount!
Well now the canopy is quick and easy to take off and put on. The magnets have a pull rating of 13lbs and hold very nicly. Combined with Booya mounts in the rear it is quick and easy now.

Watch at YouTube

The amazing magnet I used have a 13lb rating and are .5"dai x .25"thick with a .135" hole counter sunk in them.(amazing magnets # DH250D-F-NI)

A link to what? The magnet, the Booyas? This is not something you can buy as a kit. I peiced it together.

Here are a little better magnet that what I bought. Wish I had seen these. http://www.amazingmagnets.com/show-...250d-ft-ni.aspx

BTW don't play around too much. I was seeing how far away they atrack each other. It was about 4" but they slammed together so fast that one cracked in half. Good thing I ordered a couple extras when I placed my order. Neodymium magnets are super hard.

For the Booyas go right to there site.

For the 4 nuts for the stand offs. Well I had those in my garage. Don't forget to lock tight them.

All parts are waiting in the post office so I will mount it soon I guess. But I broke the main gear recently during flying my soft 3D on 2000 rpm So now I'm waiting for parts to fix that too...

Did you have to modify the bolts to get them to fit in the magnet. Or did you modify the magnet?

These are cupped magnets. No modifying. The bolt and nut fit right into the cup.

This mod is so great that the Whiplash gasser that was donated to the raffle at IRCHA had it. That is how good it is.
It only compliments how great the heli is and makes getting back to flying easier.

I will tell you one thing, if you own a Whiplash don't tell your friends how great they are. Don't tell them how great minature aircraft is on service. I saw ton of owners at IRCHA and smiled every time I saw one. But shhhhh, let's keep the fun a secret!

Perhaps I'm missing something here! I ordered the magnets specified in the post and when you insert the bolt through the magnet the head of the bolt sticks out of the hole about 1/8 inch.
What am I doing wrong?
Any close up photos?
