Blade 400 Tail wag
I've been flying my stock 400 for awhile now with no issues until recently when it developed a bad tail wag. I replaced the stock gyro which everyone here calls junk with a Futaba 520 and it got better, but still wags a bit after any rudder input. I have both DX7 and a DX6i and have turned the gyro gain down to 58 and still have some wag. Any suggestions? The servos are still stock. Thanks

Belt
The 400 is a few years old and I just started flying it again after a year hiatus. What about the belt? Tension is good.

The stock servo isn't really a good servo have you considered a upgrade?

My blade 450 was doing the exact same thing and it was driving me crazy ,I finally found that it was that I tightened the tail blades too tight.I would raise heli with no tail wag and as soon as I added a rudder imput the tail would start wagging until I lower heli back to the ground....Also check to make sure you have enough tape under the gryo (sometimes it takes more than one piece) GOOD LUCK....

Blade 400 Tail Wag
So I replaced the stock tail servo with a HiTec 5056 and now the bird pirouettes upon startup. Do I need to reverse the giro (520)? The tail rotor blades are turning the correct direction. What did I do?

Blade 400 Tail Wag
Thanks for all your replies. I had to actually look into the owner's manual for the Futaba 520 and reversed the giro, simple! With the new tail servo and giro, no more wag!
