Futaba 18MZ
ok guys I'm about to start building my Raptor G4 heli and I want to upgrade my radio. I'm thinking about a 18mz and want to know if it's worth the money. I've been using JR for years and want to go back to Futaba. Thanks Ken

Give me a day or so, and I'll send you you a PM about it. I can't tell you what you want to know on open forum or I'll get pinked.

I got mine a few days ago and the software is really impressive and intuitive, the backlit touch screen is superb. My only criticism would be on such an expensive radio, the fit and finish could be better.

Bhavik....

How is the screen out in the sunlight. My 14mz is hard to see in the sun.

flyrchelis,

I was playing around with it in the garden yesterday and the screen was really clear, however the sunlight was not very strong as it would be for you over in California.

I'm in California. The screen is very easy to see. Plus you can adjust how bright it is after it turns "off" from the backlight being full on. I run mine at 40% full brightness and still got 7.5 hours of on time to rech 30%, which is the recommended stop flying point. I got 8:15 to the alarm at 19%. The alarm does not go off at 30% like the manual says. It sounds (at least on mine) at 19% just like the 14MZ does.AMA Leader Member
