Always rebuild used helis ..
That has always been a rult of mine but I let it slide on my purchase of a 450 Pro and it almost cost me today. I noticed the tail becoming weak and had to fight it in to land. Upon inspecting I found one of the blade grip bolts had backed out. I took it apart and there was no sign of Locktite. Decided to ground it and have started taking it apart and have already found other parts where loctite was not used.

A little down time to make sure the build is right will always pay off.

Widowmaker, I have always taken down every helicopter that I have purchased for flying. By doing this I repack every bearing and check for striped threads and run a die over the threads before I use the locktite. If the nuts even locknuts seem loose when I thread them on I replace them also. One crash from a lost nut or a loose part is not worth a crash and a unwanted rebuild. fyi

I have to second that! I have the mindset anyone can make a mistake. Manufacturers included. The time spent checking the heli can always save $$ spent. In other words, spend your time checking or spend your $$ and time repairing.
Everything is temporary, good or bad.

This is a great rule of thumb as you never know how the Heli was treated before you.

Always rebuild used helis
+1
I always find a maintenance issue during the rebuild,
inner races slipping on the shafts as an example...
no loc tite, 2 much
no grease, 2 much

I was about ready to take my storm 450 for a test flight when my buddy saw one of the tail rotor pieces didnt look right. It was almost completely threaded all the way out and would of crashed my first flight. I AGREE! REBUILD FROM GROUND UPStill learning to fly
