RJX flybarless head, to replace KDE head
So I am trying to improve the flight characteristics of my Trex 600N. I know there was no phasing on the orig flybarred model and none on the KDE head, you have pretty much what you have, give or take a slight wiggle on the A-arm in the front.

I installed the RJX flybarless head tonight and the swash driver/follower?, mounts under the head and unlike the KDE its a separate piece.

I have the two slots (head and follower) aligned best I can by eye, and I wonder... Is the part separate to allow for a phasing adjustment? Kinda appears it could be used for that.

Has anyone set this head up and do I indeed line up the slots?

Good question. Well I have only seen the DFC head online and read up about it. To me (and I can't find it available for the 600 yet) while it really looks nice, there is discussion about the rigidity of the main grip link rod. It is not able to pivot on the grip arm. Fixed by radial bearing.

One of the reasons I am trying the RJX head is the KDE head can't get me the optimal blue led on my beastX.

No kiddin, I'm glad you mention that. I'm putting together a new N5c and am putting the beastx on it, that will be my first larger helicopter with it, I'm assuming I'm gunna like it a lot ,so I'm kinda looking around for fbl heads for my 600 and 700 and tz frenzy 50. I read a bunch of stuff about the dfc head and not sure how it will fair once the season is in full swing. So for now the rjx head is lookin better all the time.Bald Pilots usually wear hats!

the KDE main grips the balls or arms are closer to the main shaft, allowing for lots of pitch, the beastX though wants less throw to acheive optimum. I already exteneded the balls on the swash (700 long balls) and went smaller in diameter on the servo wheels (standard JR wheels, took off the Align wheels)
Still its just shy a touch to get me the blue LED.

These RJX grips have the ball further from the main shaft essentially giving less throw per servo movement. A flyer at our field has them and said he got optimum with this setup.

The Align DFC head looks futuristic, LOVE the aerodynamic looking control rods. but looks wont make it fly any better.

Yeah, and there has to be a weak link or something else will break, I wonder how all that plays in their new design.

It just looks to rigid.

Am I the only one who noticed the RJX head is a little sloppy fit on the mail shaft? I tightened it down anyway.....should be ok. Not a real close fit compared to my KDE head

Two tanks on the new RJX head Saturday. Flies well, seems a little more acurate in the rolls, and with the Optimal (blue led) from the beastx, it appears a tad more snappy. There was a gusty wind so I could not get a full feel for the change but initially it does look improved.
