Futaba 10CH and range considerations
So my Quad had a couple of nasty failsafe landings and I couldn't figure why it was going out of range if the the range check on low power was excellent.

Well, doh.... mine is the old 10CH with the FASST module under the transmitter case and when I sit and put the transmitter on my lap the antenna is covered by my legs and body....

Just a heads up...
It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

If it is an old 10C with fast module, try to get some PCM module and PCM Rx (they are cheap) and try going 72 Mhz and extend your antenna. I bet you will have a better range...

I also use 50mhz with great results that why i hang on to 10 ch to be able to swop the module is neat.

Also consider going UHF. DragonLink systems work great with that radio.

i have not had much luck with uhf or 72mhz on a quad, but i have taken it a mile out on spektrum. All though i did not try a whip antenna for the 72mhz which might be the best option.Trex 700, Trex 600n
