Tail Slide
Any suggestion on the best looking way of entering and exiting the tail slide? I am not able to do the full piro flip yet, but any other good suggestion is welcomed.

Found it easiest to start high, very high in a standard tail in upright hover. Then pull it back to tail down, neutral collective. Let it fall a little bit, say 2 seconds or so, then pull back a bit to complete a tail first loop away from yourself. Don't let it get too fast until you are comfortable with that. Don't get it too low. This way the exit is nose-in inverted which you should already be comfortable with. Keep the disk flat. Don't let it get low until you are really comfortable.

Also, start the exit with zero pitch and forward elevator and quickly ease-in the pitch ... most just hammer the collective on exit which is just abusive to your gear and really doesn't look that good.Team Synergy Factory Specialist / Scorpion / Thunder Power / Byron's Fuels

Any suggestion on the best looking way of entering
Gain a lot of speed from left to right. Pull back and climb high into the vertical plane. Nose right 90 degrees and push forward into a death spiral. Do one so that you are back to 90 degrees nose right and now you are free falling nose right. Piro the remaining 270 degrees back to nose up. You will be free falling really good now with neutral collective and hopefully have gained enough altitute to...

Do a ROLLING Tail slide. (zero collective, full right/left cyclic) Roll all the way down.. Just keep rolling, rolling, rolling. Don't worry about which way the helicopter is facing at the bottom of the tail slide-- the exit is same no matter what.. either fwd elevator plus pos collective, or back elevator and negative collective.
Coming out inverted adds a lot of style points.

To jazz up the entry, try this:

Do a super fast backwards inverted pass going into what looks like a backwards stall turn. Pirouette 180°to get into your rolling tail slide like I described earlier.

I love to go from inverted tail in hover then blast up and over into a long slide.

then into a U at the bottom then i do a cyclic rotation to another angle and exit into forward downward flight.

cool looking move

Like Dood, but I do one complete roll, the roll in the opposite direction, one complete roll. The roll back the other way. Three rolls is pretty good before you will need to pull out. You will need to check you height..

Thanks everyone's inputs. I am trying it now in the sim. I like the multiple rolls during the slide, and then pull the elevator to get into inverted hovering at the end.

Backwards Loops
I like entering tailslides from fast backwards flight to a big backwards loop. At the 3/4 point of the loop when the tail is pointed straight down, I just let it continue to fall.

Rolls are nice during tailslides, but it does add to the list of things going on so you need to pay attention to your height. Don't "plan" on a particular rotational angle to pull out when doing continuous rolling tailslides or you might run out of altitude before you reach that point. Plan your pullout based on altitude or stop rolling before that point.

I like to do a roll at the top just before the heli starts to fall. And if you are a zero pitch, it looks great.Old Guys Rule!

OK I try out the basic tailslide today. I do a takeoff to sideway hovering, then do a 1/2 aileron roll and let it climb up upside down. At the top, I do a 90 degree piro to make the tail point down. The tailslide starts... I adjust the collective stick to zero pitch during the travel. At the bottom (pretty close to the ground but not yet), I push the elevator stick to exit and then the blades FART.

It is so cool!!!

Fly straight in with speed, go straight up in front of you, turn it around, start the fall. Come to a hard instant stop at the same time turn the tail 90 degrees and after quick stop do a hard punch out on the side away from you.put into a funnel.

That is what I want to try next... immediately after the stop, let it fly backward towards me. Then do a 1/2 aileron roll and give -ve collective punch into inverted backward hurricane/funnel.
