Just curious, was there this much hype for the unveiling of the Xx? Seems like a lot of big names attending for the release of one new Heli! That's thousands of $'s in airfare alone, my guess is that it's got to be a little bigger like maybe more than just the 700 unveiling. Just my thoughts.
There has not been much hype at all about a 700. They have been talking about this event for awhile now so I don't know what it was intended for originally I think just fun. But can;t wait to see what Mikado has up there sleeve besides the obvious..

The "DahlHouse Flightline" event (as it is now called), started out in concept to be several days of low key, low stress, no competitions, no "manufacturer's demos", relaxed and easy going flying at our house and private flying field for Kyle and other Mikado Team members, and invited "friends of Mikado". No pressure for the pilots to perform, but just have fun and fly.

Since the event was going to be "Mikado" oriented, I thought it best from a professional basis to at least (at a minimum), inform Mikado and their U.S. retailer Ready Heli, what I had in mind, and that I was planning the the event.

Next thing ya know, lots of people are coming from all over the planet, and it's morphed into something MUCH larger.

Cool!!!

(The moment was a little awkward..."Ahh, honey, we're having a few people over for dinner..."

We need a Heli Paparazzi for this event. We can all pitch in and hire some of the Aerial Photography guys to spy on the Dahl compound. We might even be able to sell some of the spy shots to RcHeli Magazine to recoup some of the costs.

The bummer is that RCHeli Magazine is officially out of business! Notice that we haven't seen any issues since November? There have to be some other magazines out there to sell photos to... (???)

Isn't the 600 SE essentially a 700 ? Same size blades and boom ? I am excited in any event with a new model.

Size-wise, yes... A 600 SE is in the same neighborhood, but it really wasn't designed to swing 700-ish sized blades at the speeds that other 700 electrics are doing today. The hardware just wasn't/isn't spec'd for it.

IIRC, Mikado says the max headspeed on a 600 SE is something like 1800 or 1900 RPM. It'll fly fine at that headspeed, but it won't have nearly the same pop, presence, or aggressiveness as other 700s spinning at 2100 (or 2500+ like some folks do).

"It's getting closer". Yes it is

The process unfolds by going through the stages (a few stages being concept, design, prototype production, testing, changes, finalizing the production version, production), and finally the product arrives at your doorstep.

Somewhere in that chain of events the product is "unveiled", and some companies do that early-on before the product even exists in prototype (using computer generated images), and others (Mikado being the later), shows you nothing until the product is at a minimum flying in prototype.

So next weekend (Friday and Saturday the 13th and 14th), keep an eye on what's happening at the "DahlHouse Flightline" event (there will be some live media coverage via the "social networks", where Kyle and I are hosting the owners and staff of Mikado Germany, the owners and staff from Ready Heli, and all the U.S. Mikado Team pilots, at our 20 acre private flying site "compound".

You just might see some things "unveiled"

Well, it's true Kyle has a new 102 inch Comp-ARF 260 (that by the way makes a Logo XXtreme 800 look tiny), but that's not what I had in mind (-:
