Probably the cheapest way is to box it all up and put it on a Greyhound bus. You fly there and pick it up at a station.

Depends on the size. What exactly are you transporting?

There are some great heli-specific cases out there that will accommodate your batts, TX and some tools. Maybe even the charger/power supply. I'd rather have that, with laser cut foam that is specific to my heli's size and dimensions. Then I could put it in the cargo bay of the airplane.

As for planes, that's another story all together. If I had to ship my 40%, I'd crate it. No question.

I've been thinking of a good way to transport my heli as I tend to travel a lot.

I am thinking of using a bicycle transport case, these are super durable and about the perfect size for carrying 1-2 helicopters and your radio equipment. They run about $200-300 bucks.

Find a golf case, pack it well and send it UPS ground.

Or just use the golf case and bring it on the plane with you.

As long as it's under 50lbs you wont have any issues with TSA.

I take the tails off and wrap everything in bubble wrap inside an American Tourista hard side suitcase.

The LiPo's must not be checked in - these must go with you in the cabin.
I print a copy of the TSA's notice on their web site and place this in my hand carry bag on top of the LiPo's.
