I have a Trex 600 Nitro with 3gx and Spektrum backplate sensor.

The governor worked perfectly for a long time, then stopped suddenly in mid-flight. I replaced the backplate sensor, replaced the throttle servo, re-ran the governor setup on the 3gx, and increased the servo voltage from 5.1 to 6.0 volts.

Now the head speed drops when I switch to idle-up and does not change with the governor settings. I programmed a throttle curve in idle-up 2 and it made no difference. The throttle curve did work when I unplugged the sensor.

Any ideas what I should check next??

No - nothing blinks when the motor cranks.

do you have a standard magnetic sensor and magnet you can use to test if it is a 3GX issue?

Jim,

I have the old backplate sensor, but that is it.

The symptoms seem to indicate a sensor problem, but it seems long odds that one would fail and the replacement is also defective.

Should the gov LED flash anytime the sensor sees something? I've got a spare, used 3gx unit I might be able to use to test it, but it would be better to test with a multimeter.

Do you know which of the 3 leads closes when the sensor sees the pin?

governor light should change colors when the crank pin passes the sensor. I have only used the magnetic sensor, and it changes colors on every magnet pass.
But two bad sensors seems odd. Perhaps try with the old 3GX?

Problem solved.

The sensor was never the problem. It was the 3gx governor that failed. I replaced it with a vbar and the governor works great with the original sensor. Thanks to everyone.

If anyone wants to buy a slightly used 3gx with a non-functioning governor I'll make you a good deal on one! It would be good for an electric.

V Bar is also my preferred fix.

I have a V Bar 4.0 and AR7100R with a non-functioning rev limiter I might also decide to part with.lol...
