This 500 has come back into my fleet for the third time.
The previous owner has had it for 2 years, but a heart attack has curtailed his flying for a while, and does not want the strain if lifting and carrying)
It was fitted with the first belly tank I made for the 500's, and after 8 years, has developed a small weep in the top joint, not a hugh problem if the tank is not full, but an annoying drip, which make the transport smell of Jet A1
This machine had a number of self mods done when built
The turbine and all it's electrics can be removed in one hit allowing it to sit in it's custom block for inspection and run up if required, the front woodpack is a custom build, based on the old Vario trainer woodpack
My self made twin walled exhaust is not fitted to the mechanics, but to the support angles, which makes turbine easy to remove
Lucky I had a replacement tank so was able to replace the old tank, in 3 hours
The old tank will require a sealing tape to be epoxied, when I have the time to get to it
