Not sure which one to pick they both look AWESOME,

so I did the comparison thingy, in order to justify my pick !

Airwolf weighted = 800 gm
Cobra weighted = 1180 gm

that's a 380 gm extra weight !!!, isn't that going to drain my battery and the flight time? I know I should consider what I want "look-wise" since we are in a scale department...dah, but still ?!

so whats the maximum pay load the T-Rex 500 could carry ?!!

Which One????
Yes, you should be considering what look you want... if it were me, I would go with the Cobra and go to a FBL head with a AR7200BX Spektrum rx.. that should equal out the added weight and less to spin up top!!!
The little added weight will not bother the flying capability of the 500..it may cut your flight times a bit, but you could add a larger bat inside that scale fuselage!!! Maybe even a little longer blades with the same battery....
In the end, you need to choose the ALL SO COMMON Airwolf vs that GOOD LOOKING Cobra!!!

Good Luck, Stan

Gotta agree with Stan, you would be surprised how much weigth that 500 can lift. The most important issue is the CG and that can be corrected with proper battery placement. Plus the extra weight will take the bounce out of that little heli and it will fly more realistically. My vote goes to the Cobra...

well said guys,

you see thats one thing I was thinking about, AIRWOLF is just too common and its like every where !

but still if I liked it so much I wouldn't care, but honestly it did not win my heart at full, its that thing that is missing, then I looked carefully AND I FOUND IT, its the military theme that give the look of bad ass,and here we go, cobra won my heart from the first date, lol

I should consider really big battery in this case though

Scale Landing Gear...
Purpose specific carbon frame plates
Shaft driven elevated tail rotor assembly
Scale gun in the nose area
Scale missile launcher and missiles
Detachable scale helicopter cockpit
Scale landing gear assembly
The Cobra has scale landing gear and the above info is from the description of the features..
It will look more scale then the little wire landing gear legs that they usually supply with the kit.. they would be fine as long as they are retracted, but down, they look totally WRONG...
The Blackhawk gear looks very scale also.. both would beat the AW hands done sitting in the pits!!!
One other thing about a scaler on wheels.. you need to be able to lift off pretty quick so as not to get into ground reasonance..you can have the problem with either type of gear, but the wheels are always easier to start it with.. maybe a consideration since this will be your first!!!

Back to looking for reasons to build your AW~!!!!!

If I pick up the Airwolf, will be having a tremendous support from the forums regarding tuning, vibrations, adding more details and the list goes on.

however if I picked the Cobra and black hawk, I might get a limited support and I will be under the mercy of the LHS

ooh boy the Airwolf is attacking again

philb, that is a beautiful heli!!! Very Nice..

digikas, take a look at the gear on philb's heli.. they are scale landing gear.. the ones on a 500 size will just be small wires with wheels on them... like I said, up they are hidden, so it would be OK, but when down.. not so much!!!

philb, sorry to hear that the reasonance tried to get you... good save getting it off the ground quickly!!!!
