I am searching for the "Red" color of the USFS Firewatch Cobra.
It looks red in some pictures and red / orange in others. I am using Lustrekote rattle cans and have the Black, Yellow, White, Missile red and wondering if I would be good with that red.
Thankyou!

Well , here it is so far. Putting the tubing together for the landing gear and JB weld should be dry tomorrow.
Waiting on some sticker info for the USFS logos.

Looks like an Approach Cobra 60 ... I did the same paint on the prototype a few years back ... sure is easy to see while flying! Nice job ...

Who do you have doing your stickers (decals)?

The paint job looks nice. Should be a beaut in the air.

Thanks Hank79 - Looks better farther away you go...
I went with
Lustrekote Yellow,
Lustrekote White,
Lustrekote Black,
Duplicolor DE1607 Red/Orange
And after the stickers are put on it, Ill use Lustrekote Clear.

Dr Tim, Yep Its the one I purchased from you in January. I made the Trans Mid Blocks and Trans Top Blocks and just scooted along on the build.
I looked at pictures to see how I needed to change the front end to the Firewatch underside.
Would love to see some pictures of your firewatch cobra.

Christopher - I am looking for Stickers or someone who can make some vinyls for the USFS logos. I contacted Callie Graphics last night to see if they can do some for me. I painted the letters.
Any ideas?
Thanks Jeff

Dr Tim - Awesome, thank you. Looks great. I love that scheme. Great Idea on the printing the logos out. I never thought of that. I might try that!

graphics done!
I took Dr Tim's idea of just printing out the graphics. I attached and shot clear over them. They came out great. I took creative license on the front one though and made color logos.
Also completed the scale landing gear this morning.

Tim:

What type and thickness of paper are you using, and what are you using to adhere them to the paint before the clear is applied?

Callie has all the graphics for this helicopter. I am making a version of this with a Vario cobra at 1:7 scale.

I use Tracing Paper or Rice Paper to print my decals on. I apply them with a spritz of 77 spray and clear. Make sure to spray a LIGHT coat of clear first .. let dry then apply a 2nd coat (Again Light!) then the 3rd coat will be the final coat. This way you won't get any color bleed.
The 60 size Cobra is about 1/8th scale for size reference.
