Hi all

I just wanted to know if anyone knows the exact name of the colour of the US coast guard, I have a crack in the red part and I have filled it and want to spray it...

I know it is a red colour but it seems to have tint of orange in it..

i tried going to a car paint shop looking through a load of swatches but could not get a good match..

Thanks for any help

Matt

If you have a "Good" body shop they can scan the color and give you an EXACT match...

Especially if they use Sikkens paint systems or any major brands..

Home of the "Sea Cobra".....

Chevrolet "Orange" engine enamel in the spray can...

Duplicolor DE1607. That doesn't mean it will match your heli, it may not be painted the same shade

I used Testors Modelmaster "Chevy Engine Red" to match the red on my Century Coast Guard A109.

Well after a slight mishap, one of the wheels not locking properly due to the arm sleeve rotating, thus on spool up it tipped over to one side, only broke blades no other mechanical damage, and of course chipped and cracked the canopy.
I soldered a new sleeve so it would not roate with wear.
works fine.
Started on a repaint of the canopy where it cracked.
Friend who used to do car spraying had some 2 pack primer which i used and then top coat.

has come up ok
