Anyone flying this setup? I've done a thread search but I'm having a hard time finding good photos of working solutions.

I'm thinking of picking up a Trex 450 and using a 5.1 Pro unit I have. Can anyone point me to some photos of how the full sized Vbar has been successfully mounted in this heli?

Thanks.

What model of TRex 450? The first problem is physical placement of all the components on the fuselage. If that can be done elegantly enough while achieving balance, then setup should be relatively straight forward. You may have to take the "point" on this installation and give us an update.

Thanks.

It's listed as a Trex 450 Pro FBL.

Ok, of course, *after* making this post, I find this thread through a non-RR search engine. Looks doable:

Oh well, maybe this helps someone besides me. Looking forward to seeing how this flys!

Picked up my 450 today. There is no way the VBar is fitting inside this thing. I'm now considering 2 options: 1.) Mounting the sensor on top as normal and then mounting the main unit on the right side at a slight angle. 2.) Mounting the main unit up top where the sensor 'normally' goes and putting the sensor underneath the heli, upside down.

As soon as I solve this wierd-acting swash issue during setup, I'll try both to see which makes more sense.

It's a really close fit, but it does go. Mine is the last post in the thread you posted above.

Just had my maiden flight this afternoon - got 4 packs in and all went well.

I ended up just mounting the main unit on the side of the frames, under the main gear and placed the sensor in the normal location. Now I have some fine tuning to do. This thing is a bit more squirrelly than the 550
