Well technically I did but this is messed up and I wanted to find out if anyone else has done what I did. The Tailboom mount is made from metal and when the instructions said "The tail wires go into the slot on the tailboom clamp" I thought that meant they slide in with the tailboom and then the clamp, clamps down on them just like the stock plastic frame. Turns out when I tried to spool up the 3 in 1 started spewing smoke. I finally ran the wires through the "SLOT" and hole at the end of the boom mount and now the motor spins with no smoke but the 3 in 1 board is toast.

Why would this happen I guess the wires are not insulated from what I can tell but they still end up touching metal so Im not sure what the difference is. (I don't want to blow another 3 in 1)

I think RKH should have maybee put a warning in the docs to make sure it was read properly anyways its my bad.

If someone could explain why it shorted I would greatly appreciate it.

Here is a picture of the boom after "correct" install.. Imagine the wires were coming out of the boom mount as on the plastic one when i blew the 3 in 1.

Cheers!

Not sure what your talking about as I don't have one of these, but if you don't know, carbon conducts electricity and aluminum doesn't.

Are you sure you wrote that right? Aluminum is used in transmission of current.

yeah, I was thinking of an anodized tail tube. When I first found out carbon was conductive it surprised me, so I thought I would mention it.
