can I simply use a y-aileron extension or do I need a Futaba hub or terminal box?

We would need to have a hub on hand to check it out... who knows if there isn't a diode, capacitor or something in there... just saying.

That's why I wanted confirmation it works.

somebody did some test with a y harness on Youtube under futaba s.bus, you have to read capstions but it looks like all you have to do is program your s-bus servo to the chanel you want.

Found it. Apparently they modified a Y-Harness, but they don't explain how.

It would be great if somebody would chip in...

I have the terminal. It is just a bus. All signal pins are connected together. A Y-harness should do fine:

There was no capacitance or resistance measured between the signal bus and the +/- on my Fluke.
