When I was learning to fly, my friend and mentor, Steve, flew Mille 2 helis and showed me all about what the Robbe Heli could do. I never did get the chance to fly one! By the time I could fly proficiently and racked up a collection of helis, I opted to steer clear of Robbe since it seemed they were on the verge of closing their doors.

I could only imagine how nice current day Robbe machines would be! Surely, they would be competition for some of the best models out there, right?

Anybody still flying them despite the stoppage of parts production or are they just shelf queens? I always thought their designs were top notch! I can't be the only person that feels this way...

I couldnt agree more!

My heli mentor that helped me when I started had a fleet of Robbe's.

I never will forget the first time he let me fly his Futura. Easily, the best model I have ever flown....

They also make the Best Starter Hex Shaft in the Business!

I use to fly a Robbe and thought the heli was steps beyond most helis of the day. I, too, swayed away after learning that parts were going to be more difficult to obtain.

I still have an itch, once in awhile, to get another Milli II.

I still fly the Robbe Cuatro. It is really a great machine - lots of "presence" in the air with those big 800mm blades.

I'm glad that you guys posted. I knew I couldn't be alone thinking how great their helis are. I keep toying with the idea of finding a Milli 2 or Futura to buy but knowing that I can't get parts surely makes me think that the money spent on a shelf queen might not be worth it.

I noticed that a lot of guys who have them have stocked up on spare airframes and whatnot which is a great idea! Robbe made so many great designs, I have to wonder what's causing them to keep out of this heli business

Cost forced out Robbe. They saw the onslaught of cheaper Far East helis coming in and dominating the market; they could not compete so they got out.

I did not stock up on parts for my Cuatro. I have had it for about eight years now with hundreds of flights and if it goes in, well, it goes in!

I may sell it someday but for now it sits in my garage and sees daylight once every few months! I still clean it, oil it, and admire it!

Some pics in my gallery!

Great looking heli, I always loved their canopy design. I may still pick one up someday though I think that by the time I convince myself to get one, they'll be too hard to find.

Robbes were very nice, most of them....

Long stroke motors, low nitro, weird exhausts, price..."Robbe"

Schluter defined the hobby, but everybody else redefined the ground floor.

They had no idea how to make an entry level heli

The ones they made were jokes, would have been better off never making any.

High end Robbes are the best of their time, Futuras were the last really popular Robbes in the US. If you're looking for parts for later models, try the Brits.

Robbe's are NOT hard to find!!

Just look in my garage, and you'll find complete airframes plus parts for about 15 Futura SE's and Mille's.

I've already closed the deal on number 16. Haven't completed the transaction yet.

I also have a Nova Gasser, and a Connie converted to electric power. Going to convert a Mille II to electric sometime soon. I already have the parts.

When it comes to Robbe's, I buy low and sell really really high.

Is this a desease or a character flaw?

Ron D.

PS. Take a look at the BLITZ Avro. Lots of people say it looks like the logical evolution of the Futura SE.

My futura SE was really fun to fly. I actually just sold her. I second that the blitz avro resembles the SE.
