Pro's / Con's

Have hot been able to find a heavy lift Octo hub that i like and seams price is way too high for them.

I was thinking of making one on a mill.

Want to know what you guys think.

What should i set as a weight limit.

What diameter 6 inch seams small so i thought 7 or 8 inch ?????

Anything i should try to do like leave a center in it to mount hardware too, cut some mounting slots. Maybe drill some holes.

Start with a thicker chunk of material so i can bore hole's all around the outside for mounting booms.

Have no idea what it is going to cost to make.

Do you think anyone would be interested in them if i made them.

Let me know if i am just waisting time or if it is a good idea.

Aluminum hub
No!
Drilling it to lighten it enough will require hours and it will still outweigh a simple Carbon part. There is a reason why most builders use carbon. It's strong and light.

CNC to make it strong where it need's to be and light where it need to be.

One piece industrial hub for AP/AV everyday use.
