Not a single pilot featured in that trailer learned how to fly with this "Simulation X2" sim. That much I know.

"Developed by German Scientists"
Ahh, Shamwow marketing

Not impressed . What is with all the ghosting or multible images of the heli when pirouetting ? Almost like the strobe effect when the video card is not able to keep up .

roughly 4 seconds of that footage is from what is purported to be a simulator. If there was a link to a web page or something I could take it seriously. All I see is a trailer with a bunch of footage taken over the past 2 years and some screen recordings of 3dsmax viewports.

Then again... If it is something real... I am interested just from the 4 seconds of sim footage I see.

Here is one that actually has a web page. It's made by Germans, runs on Mac OS, Linux or Windows and you can actually read about it and or download it.

Ummm... yeah. I wasn't saying it was the same people. I was saying that it is something tangible. Unlike Simulation X2. It was basically sarcasm if you read my post before that one.

Yeah, but Phoenix wasn't made by Germans.

If Simulation X2 has a good physics engine, then it has potential to be a very good sim. I hope they do well since competition drives technology. Just curious, what happened to Simulation X1?

I just think it's hilarious they're using ShamWow marketing tactics.

Phoenix became one of the leaders in the sim world, but like every other sim, they had their humble beginnings. I know, because I was one of the very early adopters of Phoenix v1.0 when Phoenix wasn't so good. It was pretty bad, but at the time had cutting-edge graphics.
Phoenix still isn't very good for airplanes.

You don't have any sims. You STOLE them, remember? And then you boasted about it on youtube about the stolen software the developers received exactly $0.00 for.

I have not met Richardmid1 in person. Still somehow I like Richardmid1.
Anyway...
However I do not trust what I see with this 'simulator'. I will not be holding my breath for the 2013 release until I know more about the people behind the product. By 'more' I don't mean "german" or "scientists". I could very loosely be classified as both. Hence my apprehensive stature.

I liked the way the helis looked in X2, they had a natural appearance and moved realistically, not fake seeming like Heli-X.

X2 on a 1080p TV might be very tempting.

Lately, I find that I only want to try new things on the sim and then only for a short while. I really only really like flying the real thing. It's a lot more rewarding.
