Getting back into it, still flew but stopped looking and buying helis.Right before I stopped buying helis, I was looking at the Trex LE 90 flybarless from Amain and some Jr servos the good ones I think 8617's or something to that nature. Is that heli still the cat's meow? So how about it, what do you want to fly? I'm intermediate in flying, but always liked the most aerobatic heli I could buy.

To the OP, it sounds like you are looking for the heli with the highest status or marketing hype attached to it. There is no one answer, no top dog without knowing what type of flying and what type of budget you have.

exactly ^^^ what Marty said

jgunpilot
Just cus I like fillet mignon does not mean I get to eat it.
I am very fortunate to own a Diabolo, it reminds me of my almost bullet proof Super Heli Boy (HeliBoy-Superior hybrid) I had way back.
And by the way, I have a flying Mini Boy and an Xcell w bent frames I am restoring. I still enjoy crackers and vienna sausage helicopters. LOL

-Flown the E12 and it was a delight to fly and look at.

-I love Hirobo helis, but there is nothing new or current on their pipeline. (IMO)

The OP need to make specific questions to get specific anwsers, otherwise opinions including my own are meaningless.

Latest and greatest have diferent meanings to all of us. All the helis mentioned are good machines

just saying.

Henseleit for sheer cost status.

But really, the quads and multis are
what's going to be hot, here's THE paradigm shift.

Rc merging into something that we as hobbyists are supporting
by buying products, that in the future won't be toys
anymore, but tools, that will be used to the limit of your imagination.

The Trex 700 is still the heli to beat in terms of bang for the buck.

Align may be working on a "Pro" version right now, if so that would be the heli to get.

All the other boutique helis offer nothing more than "status" ( of absolutely no value ) and a quick drain of cash.

Look at my bling bling.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

Yup we all fly helis because of the simplicity and lack of a challenge. We all secretly wish are helis had self leveling autopilots with GPS.

Paradigm shift indeed.

Certainly neat toys for those who want instant gratification, but for some of us, nothing more than a curiosity.

I say most newer helis fly very well, some are better quality than others, and some are more crash resistant. Also have a look at the replacement parts cost.
After you look at all this then you see what your budget is and make a decision based on this. Remember also you get what you pay for. Therefore getting the cheaper one or the most expensive one is maybe not the best choice.
Hope you finally get the heli you deserve.

I figure this kind of mentality would follow.

Is not enough for you to say I like or support this model, but you have to add that what I posted out is all bling, and status.

Well I see the quality, durability and extra value in these models, and confess, the Shapes are "pretty blingy", but I did not took a crap dunp on the brand or model you like, did I?

We all have reasons for why we like what we fly. Just leave it at that. If the OP or anyone else is interested on real limited edition helis, then so be it. If they want to invest in best bang for the buck, let then decide on model's merits...

For me, I just buy the heli that has that best access to repair parts.

It just works out better that way.
