No data, I rather be hating than ducking for cover the next time one cheap scates come to the field with one of those cheap setups. If I have run for cover again from one of you pilots at the field using cheap Chinese parts, I am going to cock my arm back and follow though with my fist!
So where so u think your align helis are made? Not to mention 98% of everything you buy these days...

I might pick me up a clone 500 and one of these for a nice project

Good greif I dont know why a guy even screws with websites anymore cause someone always has to say something stupid like that. Could it be the pilot? It was me knothead and I can at least fly one. If you cant say anything constructive on the deal then dont say anything at all.

Awww I am A knothead, And yes I can fly one. Almost all of these units are made in China. When you buy from someone else you just pay more. And yes there are A lot of them that are lacking on quality and I read reviews and would not buy one. I have seen A few 3 to 4 thousand dollar helis land near me in the pitts. Should I blame that on parts? I was jus saying that some pilots make mistakes and it is not always blamed on parts even though they say they did not do it.

OHHHH crap!! That was fun

Well we did not crash it as the thing is not even controllable to get it off the ground much more than a couple of inches. My guess is that it is the cheap servos. I didnt say you couldnt fly and yes there is a lot of ppl that blame everything but the pilot. This thing wont even hover let alone do anything with it. It is not mine and no I wouldnt buy one but this guy did and there are ppl that are using them and they are working for them. He is using it in a small scale chopper and all he will ever do with it is hover and fly small circles. I just didnt appreciate your coment on the flying part when if you read my post I was asking a question on what could be wrong with this. I have 2 vbars and 1 750 and they both work perfectly. I am guessing it is his cheap servos but am not sure. Just wanted to make sure I didnt miss something in the setup.

Hi there Kiksko, these are the servos...

hk single chip 12-6

http://www.hobby king.com/hobby king/store/%5F%5F16262%5F%5FHKSCM12%5F6%5FSingle%5FChip%5FDigital%5FServo%5F6V%5F12g%5F1%5F7kg%5F0%5F16s.html

i would seriously not recommend them, as they are very slow, can only run on 5v and i had one strip in flight, so id say the gear train isnt strong enough for our purposes.

Sall part of experimenting and testing new stuff. ya win some, ya lose some

On our own personal rave 450 we put the spectrum digital servos on it and they made a huge improvement over the hitec 65mgs. They are not that much and also I wouldnt consider them to be the best but for the money they work very well.

Great flight. Couple of questions:

- did you mount the copter-X unit solid on the frame or you used some pads?

- 3000 mah for a 700 heli is not to low ? Did you puff the packs?

The big question with cheap servos is always: how many flights without incidents ? I've burned myself in the past with HXT900 (more than one time) and now I am cautious.

Hi there Stiganas, i mount the unit on futaba double sided tape, its about 1.5 mm thick and pretty stiff.

3000 mah is low for a 90 size, they need an efficient setup to work, and last. That flight only drew 2350 from the pax, they are not puffed and have about 60 flights on them. There are several guys using 3000 mah setups. You do need an efiicient setup though. I got lucky with the scorp 400 kv and hawk esc.

I only have 5 flights on these servos. They run cooler than the Align 610s that they replaced. I have had hk servos crap out at irregular intervals before, there are no gaurentees.....except for futaba digitals for the most part.

99% of the time, servos will act a little weird leading up to a failure, so a eagle eyed pilot/mechanic will have a little heads up before outriht failure, as is my experience

Hi Cris,

I have a 700E on order (with a 470 MX motor) and I want to standardize on only one battery size: 3000- 3300 mah for 500, 600 and 700 - it is obviously possible.

I know the game with the sign of a failing servo, my problem is that I always recognize the signs after the failure.

Thank you, Stefan

Just installed the Copter X unit in my T-Rex 250, (I previously had the Beast X 3.0 on it), I read somewhere that the two units uses the same Gyro, well they fly exactly the SAME. The units even feel the same in your hands I have several V-bars and I like the tail authority better on the Copter X and the Beast X. Im buying 4 more to convert my older fleet of T-Rex 600 and 700's.

Makes an excellent cheap stand alone gyro for the tail as i found out when i needed to replace a failed unit on a flybarred heli.

Following Heliguychris posting, I got a couple of these with the program box and USB lead just for fun/experimentation. I installed one in my regular FBL testbed, a Protos 500, and was impressed. This thing flies pretty good out of the box! It's not quite as consistent as my Vbars but it flies very well and I have spent zero time in tuning so I can probably get more performance if I invest more time. Outstanding value IMHO and I've ordered a few more.
