question about PL6
I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a new charger.I really like the FMA stuff as I've had/have a Cellpro 4s and a 10s and both have been flawless.I've pretty much made up my mind on a PL6.so my questions are this.

Is it better to get their SMART Parallel adapter or just get some parallel cables? Can you parallel charge without the FMA board?

Any thoughts or comments on the PL6 would also be greatly appreciated..thanks...FENDER

The only reason to get the FMA parallel safe boards is for their added protection of their poly fuses. It works but can be a bit combersome to use. I personally use the parallel boards from Progressive RC. They are a much more streamlined solution.

Get the PL6! It's phenomenal!

awesome, thanks, this is EXACTLY what I was hoping to hear as I was thinking the exact same thing. Its seems the 60 dollar fma adapter is just some added fuses.Progressive has a board that does the same thing for 20 bucks and the cables are just about the same price

Ok its a done deal.I'm getting the PL6

Earlier this year FMA released parallel board like the ones Bodyshop posted. But they include the Polyfuses on the node connector and fused connections on the high current charge connections.

In addition to the safety features, it has nice touches like ports for micro batteries (Eflight UMX, etc) and output port that alows you to daisy chain multiple MPAs from the same charge. Handy when you need to parallel charge 12 batteries.

Also available as combo.

The risks with these parallel boards are very real. Here are just a few that were man enough to admit thier errors.

There is a reason FMA has not released a parallel board until it could be done safely. That thread is confirmation that thier concerns about the safety of the non-fused parallel boards are well founded. Even the cloned parallel boards are moving to a fused design. Before long, the unfused boards will be a thing of the past.

The fuses are nice you cannot deny that. The only problem is that FMA doesn't offer a board with EC5 connectors. At least not yet. I use EC5s almost exclusively so that's a problem for me.

You could make your own deans to EC5 adapter cables. This would increase clutter though.
