Well that looks like Bert has a tad too much pitch, which might be fine beating it for over half its flight, as the batteries run down , bogging comes into play, and you keep beating on it will result in blades givin out and piviting back in a steep negative pitch which cause it to hit the boom, also the blade could be bowing too, too me a fix would be a tad longer main shaft, like 10 mm longer, or if they dont do that, alittle less pitch Good 65c batteries and a real good solid motor for extreme 3D is a must,
Also. Reason why there is idle 1 and 2. Idle 1 has less pitch and idle 2 for the first 1/2 your flight with your extreme spanking mode,

How recent is this pic, and were there any comments behind it from Bert himself?
According to Bert himself:

https://rc.runryder.com/t668499p3/

"Wow, I can't believe the amount of speculation, I guess this is good for SAB as it creates more brand recognition, but don't you guys have anything else to do?

Just need to set the record straight here, my first prototype crashed due to a chafed wired on the tail servo, the prototype model had a very sharp boom edge and I didn't take the time to sand it down or protect it because I was in a hurry to start testing the machine, it was a complete oversight on my part. There was no mechanical failure, it was an issue with the flybarless control system going into failsafe due to extreme noise.

Anyone that has any experience flying helis will see that the helicopter continued on its last position until it hit the ground, nothing mechanical failed.

The only parts that got damaged were the landing gear, landing gear support, main shaft, tail hub, blades, blade grip pitch links, that's it! This proved this helicopter to be stronger than some people think.

As for SAB not handing out Goblins to everyone of their team members, this is simply, SAB is a small operation, they don't have the budget I don't think to hand out Goblins to everyone, only a select few have been fortunate enough to be part of the test program prior to release. The helicopter is 99% complete as far as I've been told, they're just running behind due to a last minute change to the way the gears are manufactured.

Bert"

The above has nothing to do with picture however...

But yes the first go around that explains that however I want to know how much boom striking is happening that's not something persay "normal".

Fair enough reggie, so what's the skinny? I know Berts an honest egg, so just curious if there was ever an issue, still an issue, or outright NO issue......Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...
