I have used the stock motor and esc, and yes it is ok up to a point.
The headspeed is good, and the power is decent enough to pull 13deg pitch, and do fast tick tocks.
Its not super torquey though, so use some collective management.
The stock esc will thermal if you push it very hard.
Ive not been able to do it myself, but was standing with Dominik Haegele when he thermalled the one I built originally lol.

My stock motor and esc video

Watch at YouTube

YGE in the USA is distributed by Elektro RC.
Buy the YGE programme card, its a must have tool, makes it all very easy.

YGE= Young Generation Engineering
Ex Kontronic engineers formed their own company in Germany.
Personally I like the YGE gov better than Kontronic, but that is my opinion, I have no data to show

Im using the 40a version, which handles up to 6s.
For the love of the hobby

Wondering if there are any particular reasons for getting the Futaba s3156 over the hitec 5065's?

Does either one fit or perform better than the other?

Thanks for the link and advise.

Really more interested in opinions of people who have built the machine with either servos.

Sounds like the Futaba servos are the better choice based on same speed and more torque.

So it sounds like the Futaba servos fit perfectly?

Regards.

Nope.

A 6S set up uses around 50% less kV since the voltage is twice as high.

Pick your poison for set up and purchase accordingly.

For 6S you'll want a Scorpion 2010kV

55 is plenty. Higher cell count means lower peak current.

You program them with the transmitter or a ProgDisk. The direction explain how to do it.

With the talk about 6s setups makes me wonder if the heli could safely run 350 blades? Wonder how long the boom is....Xxtreme 800, TDR, 700E DFC, Mini Protos, T-450 DFC, Blade 130x, mcpx, nano

How does one fry a new escape? Enquiring minds are curious. The ICE 50 is an excellent unit and setup is pretty straight forward.
