Mounting pad for Heli Command HC3-SX??
Using Heli Command HC3-SX with my Trex 500 flybarless. I used thin mounting pad with 500. I purchased another HC3-SX for my Trex 700N in the info it said to use thick mounting pad with nitro or gas heli, but i've read in some of these forums to use the thin pad regardless of electric or nitro. Does anyone know what would be best to use??

Hi Boyd, I've not used the pads as supplied by HC because I have been using my ones on different models.
I'm just using servo pads of similar density to the HC ones. All is fine so far after 5 hours total flying.
HC will recommend you use their pads because that's what they supply, but I have used a different pads all 2-3mm thick and they are all fine.
I wouldn't get silly and put it on a pad thats 5mm thick myself as this is way outside what HC supply with the units.

All the best Bell Bloke.

As long as your machine does not have extremely high vibrations go with the thin mounting tape, the HC3 is very resistant to vibration and prefers to be hard mounted in most cases.

We have found the thin pad works best for all applications unless there is a lot of vibration. If you do use the thick pad I recommend using a strap as well. A strap is not needed with the thin pad.

I use the 3M thin mounting tape and it works great for the HC3SX. Joachim stopped short of recommending it, of course, but he knows that some of us are using it and said it should work fine. Well, it does.Century Bell 47 III, RCA,700 UH-1N, Hirobo Lama, Logo 500, Logo 400, Trex 550e, HC3SX, Kontronic

Helicommand thin tape for first installation, then 3M thin after. One roll lasts a long time, and I have four helicommands.Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.

Yep, I have 4 too and I've moved them around quite a bit, just experimenting, so the 3M tape comes in very handy. I've had them on everything from a Gaui 200 upto my 700 stretch and they work perfectly every time. Very impressed. I did fly one of my Microbeasts the other day and I have to say it felt great, too. Just doesn't have some of the other features.Century Bell 47 III, RCA,700 UH-1N, Hirobo Lama, Logo 500, Logo 400, Trex 550e, HC3SX, Kontronic
