new 5d ??? 3500usd?
i think the new 5d is a disappointment about all us canon fans
the 60fps are only for 720p
Also there is no a clean HDMI out

a lot of money - don't think its worth to update for all 5d markii owners

Feels more like a MK 2.5 than a 3. I was expecting much more from this 5D release too.
I think now with the C300 in the market Canon is limiting the adding of new features on DSLR models.
I'm leaning towards SCARLET at this point, well be flying one soon.

I noticed that SONY bought out Minolta over 4 years ago and developed something cool.
If a guy is not a Cannon or Nikon guy and just getting started i think they should take a look at there A77.
What do you guys think of this.

How do you like it? How did you set up the accesories for aerial use?

We've been working with an EPIC for a client. We removed everything but the Side SSD, accesing to the menus with REDmote.
Additionally we built a customized battery set (4s Lipos) and installed a HDMI to Composite converter for downlinking video to groundstation.
It gets pretty compact like this.

Rec ON-OFF can also be remotely activated via an aux TX/RX channel (GPI port), we are working on the interface.

I don't know yet. Ordered the X package 2 days after the announcement and the side SSD is still back ordered.

The EPIC has been working really well though. It's quite a thrill sitting in a movie theater watching your shots on the big screen!

Josh Radnor's second Film "Liberal Arts".

It will be in theaters sometime this summer. Got to see the premiere at Sundance.

Gaucho,

Got the rest of camera last week and so far it's working really well. It's very well behaved on both my dinosaurs just like the Epic is. My only complaint (minor) so far is you have to remove the redvolts after use or the brain drains them. Should be an easy firmware fix - hopefully soon. It's a blast grading raw digital negative footage!

Hi Wendell,

Why are you not useing a four cell lipo to power the camera? They are a ton cheaper and you can charge them back up in no time.

While we are talking about cameras. Have you guys seen the new Sony NEX FS700? Here is a link to a test: http://www.denlennie.com/2012/04/so...n-location.html Extremely impressive feature list. All the way up to 240 fps at full 1080 with no crop factor. 4k sensor outputting a full 1920x1080 and upgradeable to a 4k image, with external recorder at some point in the future. Available in June of this year, or so the say.

If the FS700 keeps the same body and a similar weight to the 100 that thing is going to be a true game changer.

Hey Wayne,

I will use lipos but for the moment the redvolts are simpler with my set up.
