Broken blood vessel in one of my eyes.
Got up this morning and noticed that my right eye was completely bloodshot on the right side of my pupil. From what I've read online it's a broken blood vessel which is common under certain circumstances.
I can't figure out what may have caused this but I can say I haven't experienced the following:
Pain.
Itching or discomfort.
Haven't been hit in my eye or head.
Eyes not dry.
No bugs or sandflies etc.
No sneezing or coughing.
I don't drink.
Don't have high blood pressure, last time I was checked anyway.
No blood disorder that I'm aware of.
Not diabetic as far as I know.
Not constipated.
Not pregnant.
Not stressed, quite happy in fact these last couple days.
Taking low dosage of Effexor for several years.
No other medications.
No drastic change in diet.

Anybody else had this for no apparent reason?
The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!

I had red eyes too and it was a deep Eye Infection.

Better have your eye doctor (MD) check it over.

Eye sight is nothing to guess about.

Mike:
I took an hour for you and did some reading about Effexor.
It it a powerful drug, the Creator did not place in the
human body. It is my advice that you slowly drift away
from antidepressants, as cold turkey with this drug
can cause more problems than it actually helps.

Doctors are a strange group. They believe they are smarter
than God in many cases. I am sure that some good is being
accomplished, but a trust towards God is a good start.

I bring this to your attention because I really think you
will be completely healed as you simply ask God to heal
you and then wait and trust in Him.

The Bleeding in your eye could very well be caused by this
powerful AD. Note this from a Site I visited:
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Effexor:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); bizarre behavior; blood in the stool; chest pain or discomfort; confusion; decreased concentration; decreased coordination; decreased urination; fainting; fast or irregular heartbeat; fever, chills, or sore throat; hallucinations; memory problems; new or worsening aggressiveness, agitation, hostility, impulsiveness, inability to sit still, irritability, panic attacks, or restlessness; persistent or severe ringing in the ears; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; seizures; severe or persistent anxiety, nervousness, or trouble sleeping; severe or persistent cough; severe or persistent headache, dizziness, stomach pain, or weakness; shortness of breath; significant weight loss; suicidal thoughts or attempts; tremor; trouble concentrating; unsteadiness or loss of coordination; unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual or severe mental or mood changes; unusual weakness; vision problems; worsening of depression.
So my friend, I lift my prayer for you to God:
"Heavenly Father, I ask You to heal Mike. He has trusted
mere men and perhaps has been led astray. YOU are perfect
in everything and I ask YOU to restore anything in Mike's
body that is out of order in any way. Thank YOU. Amen."

Hydrate well, get plenty of rest and during sleep perhaps
you will discover the answer to our prayer for complete
healing and absolute restoration. Bless you.

In Jesus' Love,
Byron

First of all there is nothing wrong with taking an anti-depressant. Do not stop without talking to your physician first. It was prescribed for a reason. Effexor can raise interoccular pressure. With that said I had the same issue in my left eye once. Looked scary but it was nothing serious. Definately get in to see your eye doctor as soon as you can to make sure there is nothing wrong. Make sure to have him/her check your pressure. It's the test where they "shoot" a puff of air at your eye.

I can't emphasize this enough. Get in as soon as possible. I was doing work on a CRT projector a few years back and apparently got a small piece of metal in my eye. I didn't feel it at the time and noticed a small black spot the next day. I got in that day to see my eye doc and he was able to remove it. He said if I had waited a few days longer the tissue would have grown over it requiring a surgical removal.

Mike years ago I went deep sea fishing out of NC. Long story short, it was 14' seas all day. We were all sick as ___t. I dry heaved for so long that day that there was NO white left in my eyes, all blood red from ruptures from convulsing. 3 weeks unitil I quit looking like a vampire. By the way I will NEVER go deep sea fishing again.

Mike,
I hope you did understand that I was simply praying for
your healing. As a Spirit Filled Christian, Father hears
me when I ask Him. (Some do not understand this fact.)
But of course see your doctor with the issue of a bleeding
blood vessel in one of your eyes! He may advise you to continue
to take effexor or wean you off of it himself. He is the
Doctor, take his advice. I also agree with the Eye Doctor
someone above mentioned. Though these highly trained and
schooled men have much education, they do not know it all.
My Pastor once advised, if you have a headache - pray for
God to affect it's banishment, and take an aspirin or two.
IT is amazing how wonderful HE will heal us as we rest and
sleep.
Best to you friend,

Wow! I didn't think anyone would even be interested in my post.

Thanks for all your advice, suggestions and prayers.

I do occassionally have sinus issues, especially at night when sleeping. Unfortunately I was hit in the nose with a baseball when I was a teenager. This resulted in a deviated septum. Which I later had surgery to correct. However, it's still not aligned properly. I've spoken with an ENT specialist friend of mine who says it's difficult to get perfect anyway. Apparently the only thing different about this same procedure now is, they pack your nose with sponges rather than gauses.
I'm thinking this may have caused it.
The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!
