CopterControl board
Does anyone on here use this. It really looks stable in the vids I saw, low price, but you have to get on a waiting list to get one.
I looked thru the quads posting but I didn't see anything.

I have one on a VC550. It was easy to set up (per the vid) and with a power distribution board the setup can be made compact and tidy. I only have a few flights on it though as I haven't had the time to get out with it. Popped up in to a hover nicely and seemd fine with lazy forward flight. Sadly the last time I flew it was late Novmber...

Fellas,
This site isn't used much when it comes to quad flying or FPV as much as the other forums available out there but lemme tell you that Copter Control Board is very much sought after because of its awesome flight performance and it's overall good behaviors.

Yes it's true there is a waiting list but the people who make that board are coming out with its upgrade. I don't know too many details but I have been following the OP website.

Good Luck finding one lol!! There is a guy on here name Juz70 that is almost the spokesperson for OP. I'm just saying his posted videos with that CC board make me wanna buy em in bulk.

From what I heard (and read also on OP website), the production on CC board stopped. They are working on a new board right now and I guess it will be released very soon.
However, I don't think much will change as far as getting one. You will have to be patient and lucky. You are not going to find one on the shelf and go just get it.
Look for one for a while, you will understand what I mean

New batch of CC3D boards are just waiting on the Gyros.

"Feb 2012: The CC3D design is now finished, however InvenSense, the makers of the gyro used in our new CC3D Board, is currently unavailable. Unitl we can get the gyros, we cannot produce the boards. There are posts about it on the InvenSense facebook wall here, feel free to ask InvenSense to make gyros available to the OpenPilot project."

I have two CC boards in quads, one older development board and a newer (paid for) board. They do require a fair bit of work with the pc to tune the gains.
I also have several KK boards and I don't think the CC boards are much better than the KK for a basic quad. Yes - they are configurable in lots of ways but you need a pc the whole time. The KK boards need a screwdriver to adjust a gains.
In the wind, they both fly pretty similar although the CC board has autolevel which is awesome when you get in trouble. The CC board does not hold the yaw well and has been described by many as "they fly like a drunk sailor"... they wobble all the time.

The best board I have - especially in the wind is the HoverflyPro. It is pricey but the autolevel and wind ability (and easy of use) makes the CC and KK boards look like toys.

Pete

btw... This is what I used the CC boards in recently...

In youtube, search for "All Blacks" and coptercam! The flying isn't great but it was supposed to look like "teenagers flying"...
