What could be improved or added on your FBL system?

It was about time someone started a thread about improving them, seeing how we are in the age of FBL technology.

What would you like to see improved on your Flybarless system/s?

Maybe they will read and listen to us, maybe this will level the playing field.

What are some of your example issues? Personally I don't have issues to improve. And what ever might be improved it's all software. Unless you can comprehend software control loops I don't think you could think of an improvement. But perhaps you could think of a feature?_Sam B_

I would like see the CGY750 have options for bluetooth, also pitch boost/option for agility on collective pitch, spektrum satellite options, even though I care none for JR.

ahh "futaba putting ports for spektrum satelites" when hell freezes over

your best solution is to pick the unit that best fits your needs,
then the factory boys will make what the market wants

myself I went v-bar

I have them all, I would like if BeastX had paddle simulation, and 3GX could fly like a BeastX out of the box, and 3G could UN-invent itself

I just thought of a feature.

It would be cool to have 3 settings that could optimize the control loop:
1) weight of heli.
2) length of blades.
3) weight of blades.

An example is the Vbar has a "special" software version out to account for the increased mass of the Logo Xxtreme, and probably opimized for the heavier longer blades. The same system could be optimized on a 450 size heli with these settings to tweak the control loop where appropriate.

I'd say that the current group of FBL systems is pretty well optimized.

With so many systems, there is certainly something for everyone no matter what your looking for in a system.

The only one we haven't truly seen yet is the Vortex, which looks extremely promising.

Yep the Vortex unit does look great! There seems to be a lot of concern for certain units over others but I'd have to argue that it's all about how you set it up. Personally I am having excellent luck with Align 3G (yes, 3G, not 3GX). Also had great luck with the microbeast. Not sure what paddle simulation is though if someone wouldn't mind explaining it?

What could be improved on these FBL systems? Price baby, bring 'em down!

Adding telemetry to FBL systems. Altitude, nautical speed. The biggest addition would be Telemetry, warning of; excessive Vibration indicator, sent realtime to transmitter This would be awesome save us all from mechanical failure. Damn I got some good ideas! Futaba probably will the first so come out with it then Mikado.

Its up to Futaba to get the telemtry stuff out, being sbus compatible, once that is a go then you'll see screen/telemtry integration from vbar. All the technology is there on their end really....Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

With the Spektrum integration of sat RX's and Spektrum Dx8's having full telemetry capability what is stopping them now on the Spektrum side?

Nobody wants Futaba telemetry anyway

It's more like, I'd like to see on-screen options with my FBL controller integrated into my TX. Some sort of telemetry has validity in my mind

I want Captain Rescue!
I have a CGY750 now but a HeliCommand with Captain Rescue might be in my future.
I'd love to see "Captain Rescue" with the Futaba units. I bet within the next 18 months, all the major leaders in flybarless electronics will have a unit with Captain Rescue.

How about self-setting control loops? Instead of having to tweak parameters, the system automatically rings out the control loop parameters like the good 'ol Throttle Jockey. It should not require any violent or dangerous conditions. It could most likely be done with almost imperceptible motions.

Doing so, the control loop would adjust for the full dynamics of the heli including servo and blade response.
