Heavy equipment? I carry a power supply and a charger with a few charge cables in a lightweight aluminum box!! Heavy???
Are you forgetting that with nitro you have to carry a field box which contains your starter, glow plug wrench, glow plugs, fuel, windex, paper towels, amongst a bunch of other junk!!
I was thinking the same thing. I'm thinking to myself, when I take my 700E, 600 and 500 out to the field with me for the day, I'm just carrying my charger and an ammo can worth of lipos. On the other hand, when I take my fury out, I'm carrying a can of fuel, starter, a plethora of tools to tune and disassemble if I should need to and a roll of towels and cleaner so the thing doesn't make a mess in my truck.

Thank god for portable starters and on-board glow for nitro helis, that cut some equipment out of the way but I'm still lugging all the other crap as well. I think I like the EASE of Electric better

Sorry pal I don't have a "flight box". Flight boxes are for slab fliers. All of my nitros have on board glow igniters. Fuel bottle and starter is all that is needed. I do bring a tool box with me though.
What does that have to do with what I posted in the first place?

And how many hands/ trips does it take to load that up?
I need to show you something..

What you denounce as a "flight box" is to me an "ALL-IN-ONE FIELD CADDY"
It conveniently holds all my heli tools, my starter, fuel jug, extra glow plugs, paper towels, and much much more!

When I want to pack light for when I'm "on the go" All I need is this.

Gaui 425
It is push pull links, and cheap, it flies great. Best of everything. I saw Bobby Watts at IRCHA 2010 bang the bull with one.

Ok here is my "flight box" it holds every thing that I need at the field. I even carry a full size Cordless dremel. I can't say enough about the carrying capacity of this bugger.

Jimmy the 425 is a little smaller than what I am after. I have a mini-titan and a Lepton. Looking for something in the 500 size class so I can stay with 6strex 700fbl cal30,minititan,, trx600fbl,trex250,logo 500,Velocity N2

I thought the 500 class use 425 mains. My trex 500 does, and the Gaui also uses 425 blades. I have mine stretched using 550 blades.
My mine titan uses 325 blade and is a lot smaller then the 500 size.

Oh, It runs on 6s.

Gaui 425 and Trex 500 are the same size - so is a Logo 400. IMO they should all be named based on the size of blades they are intended to run. A Trex-450 should be named a Trex-325 - naming them based on a loose definition of the motor size they are intended to run is just confusing.

When buying a heli look at the size of the main blades. That's what really matters when thinking about the size of the heli.

Oh no I have no idea what the Gaui5 runs. I have never looked at them. I just know the Gaui 425 is a 500 size electric heli.

The current X5 kits come with 520mm blades. I'm not sure that Gaui even produces 500mm blades anymore. If you get the X5 be sure to get a 15 tooth or 14 tooth pinion or you'll end up with some very high headspeeds with the standard 16 tooth pinion without a governor. I run a 14 tooth on mine with the standard electronics and it's got plenty of power for me.

Yea I am leaning towards the Gaui5. This guy that I keep talking about must be running the stock pinion because this thing is ballistic. He bought the kit with every thing included.

I got it at Home Depot, and I think I paid about $49.00. Can't get a bottle of fuel in it but I have that thing stuffed with tools. The thing that I really like about it is all the little pockets that you can stuff your small tools into.trex 700fbl cal30,minititan,, trx600fbl,trex250,logo 500,Velocity N2

That's based only on opinion and is entirely subjective.
But when you can evaluate things like dead band and wear & tear on servos with hard evidence, it doesn't look so good for your direct-to-swash is better argument. I win round one.
I just seen this thread and DOOD is at it againI can post here now, right DOOD? because you can't ignore me now.Guys don't let him bullsh!t you into his way of thinking.

That's not bad! The heli haulers and other soft case making companies out there are considerably more expensive so this makes it an affordable option. Thanks!
