Could be. I will check again, but I set this one up with a digital pitch gauge and pitch from blade to blade was identical through out the entire pitch range.Xxtreme 800, TDR, 700E DFC, Mini Protos, T-450 DFC, Blade 130x, mcpx, nano

When I was checking the tracking on mine ,I used a piece of one inch diameter aluminum square tubing the same length as the pitch gauge and placed it on top of the head block, put pitch gauge on blade at zero ,set to mid stick and check to see if both horizontal lines of the gauge and tubing are the same, repeat for other blade.Jan explaines this way in the manual and is very easy to see if the tracking is out, other than that I've got nothing else.

UPDATE
Replaced the satellite that was acting stupid and added some ugly skid nuts and my two little issues are gone

Thanks for the tips and recommendations.

This was one of those helis I really got worked up about

Anyways flew the TDR twice today and she was smooth as glass. 1st flight checked head speeds and did some hovering and the second flight started testing V-bar settings.

Video of the second flight. Still needs the tail gain lowered possibly and some adjustments on the V-bar but flew pretty good for bench settings. Also sounds like the governor on the Jive is unloading in the loops and stuff but not really sure. You can hear it in the vid.

Poor guy. That giddy feeling where you're giggling at the end. Only a TDR owner nows what that feels like.

GRATZ!

Hey T-rex, can I have some private lesons, if this was your maiden flight checking things out, I was wondering what a real flight would be for you

Totally RCSavager! Built and flown so many different machines but this one had me all worried and nervous. When I finally flew it I was giddy and relieved

Thanks ABH, I wanted to just test out flip and roll rates, check piro speed, check gains, etc. and I did, but just couldn't hold back trying some maneuvers even though settings weren't quite where they need to be Was waiting to fly this one anxiously

I would like to lower the tail gain as you can hear it in the tight funnels, sounds like it's too high. Also make the style more vivid or add some more paddle sim to make the cyclic respond quicker. Lastly see if I can increase the Jive gain because it sounds like head speed ramps up considerably coming out of loops.

What do you guys think?

Just wanted to add that you can hear the tail noise I'm describing at 2:30 and the ESC "unloading" in the loops starting at 3:35.Xxtreme 800, TDR, 700E DFC, Mini Protos, T-450 DFC, Blade 130x, mcpx, nano

I heard the tail and overspeed clearly. Sounds like gain is about 3-5 points too high on tail. Nice flying for a new heli that wasn't completely setup. Looks like you are close to having the V-Bar spot on.

Are you using a Kontronik's ESC? I haven't seen overspeed on a Kontronik ESC before like that. Seems like a CC governor to me.

I thought the same thing on the gov. But I've seen several VBar gov setups do the same thing. Jive doesn't overspeed per se. You can get the blades going faster than normal if you 'auto' it so the air spins them up but the Jive would've stopped pushing long time ago.

My money says he's running a VBar gov.

Yup, its a Heli Jive 120 HV, first reset with mode 1 then programmed to mode 4, also set endpoints. Changed the BEC to 6v with the Prog Disc and that was it.

Although it seems to be working great otherwise. Its weird because my 550 with a Jive 80 LV does the same thing in loops.

This has me thinking of trying the V-bar gov. though.

I would agree with the tail gain adjustment and I am going add some more paddle sim and probably make it more "vivid" to get the machine to roll and flip on axis a little better.
