Xxtreme Head speeds
What is the lowest head speed and the highest, you guys are running? I put mine at:

Normal 1700
ST 1 1800
ST 2 1800
This is with the 813 blades.

Have not flown it yet, trying to get some Ideas of the best head speeds.
Also what is the lowest HS it will leave the ground and hover?

Thanks,
wrongler

I thought 1900 was a no no
and I can't imagine needing more than 1800, its an animal.

I'm running 1400, 1600, 1800 Rotor RPM

One of these days I'm going to setup 1000RPM but I'm not sure if the YGE is happy with that low of throttle.

Why in the manual does it show 2200 Max?

I will change mine to 1800 Max.

I can see where that would be confusing, they should have put 1800 in the manual. It will do 1900 but I don't think much over that is smart or needed.KDS Agile 7.2/5.5 Chase 360 - SkyHero Spyder/Spy/Little Spyder

My question is, do you NEED to put 2200 in the Vbar setup, or will 1800 suffice. The only difference would be the % TC you have to use I guess.

I tried it both ways, 2200 and 1800, You could still get the head speed anywhere with the TX.Bill Whittaker

Kyle has a 1000 head speed flight mode that he uses once-in-awhile, just to play with at the beginning or end of a flight.

The heli hovers at 1000 no problem, but because he never stays in the flight mode for very long, we don't know if the YGE would heat-up too much or not if flown at that low head speed for a long time.

going above 1800 will just disappoint you as in the end of the flight there will be a notable dropoff in head speed. (which some have noticed already)
So, stay within Mikados recommendation.
I fly mine at 1700-1750, I had 1800 and used that in the beginning but realized it just costed flighttime with no real gain.

As for the 2200 number it comes from the manual, it does not matter if you enter 1800 or 2200 or 1 million for that matter, its just the resolution that differ, one % in the radio will make a bigger change..

so my 95% straight throttle curve will be 95% of 1800 max. Just want to be sure.

of course 95% throttle would be a higher headspeed with 2200 in the box?

This was my approach when I decided to put 1800 in the box and use higher level throttle curves in the radio. I hope this is ok.

Either will work, I put 1800 in my box and then 100% in the radio = 1800Gone fishing..or hunting..or something

Although it's been explained here fully by MrMel, I'll just add that our technique is to set the maximum head speed in the V-Bar intended for the heli to be flown at (say 1800), and that puts the transmitter's throttle value at 100% for that head speed. Then all other flight modes with lower head speeds are obtained by running a lower throttle value.

I've been playing with 1200, 1450 and 1700 but am going to change to 1300, 1500 and 1700.

1200 for spoolup, takeoff and landing is really nice. It is so slow it is almost scale and people seem to enjoy watching it. I can only imagine what 1000 looks like.

I'm also going to up the pitch from the recommended +/-11 to +/-12.

Cheers,

Jays

Why do u guys muck around with these rediculously low head speeds... 1300 or 1400 is a waste of time. On my XXTreme I run 1750, 1850 and 1980.... No problems, goes like a shower of ****, no bent blade bolts
