tail setup ??
ok is this a common problem or is it just me ?? i have no tail authority with tail drift to the left. i have tried going up and down with the gain from major tail wag to almost out of control piros. i have added subtrim to the tail for the drift to go away but the tail still dose not hold. when i do apply tail input the tail is very slow and hard to return to a tail in position. i think i have narrowed it down to the tail control rod it is very very thin steel rod is there a better setup to use or make so the rod can be stiffer i do belive this is my problem. so if there is a better setup for a stiffer rod and ballends could some one hook me up with some parts to use it whould be a very good help thanks

I always replace the wire pushrod on 250's and 450's with a solid carbon-fiber rod with the threaded ends of the wire pushrod JB welded in place. This helps a lot. But it sounds like you may have something fundamentally wrong with your heli. I've seen an unsolvable tail wag traced down to bad bearings in the tail blade grips.

What gyro and radio are you using? Which servo? How far is the ball link out on the control horn for your tail servo?

I had months of hell due to this (I was one step from trashing it) and this is my advice out of it:

Take the main blades off (for safetly). Spool the heli up to get the tail spinning full speed. Move the tail stick around to make sure the slider actually moves smoothly.

In my case all was fine at rest, but as soon as the tail got spinning the slider got jammed. The problem was faulty bearing in the tail blade grips. (I simply bought a new tail assembly and all has been great since, and the 250SE is a great machine)

I know of a few people who've also done this procedure and found identical issue.

It ain't the rod. As said it sounds like bad bearing in the tail grips. There is a chance the bad bearing problems has almost burned your tail servo out so just check it is ok before you continue using it.60% of the time, it works every time!
