Just took the plunge with Kontronik
I just put my CC 110HV esc on the market, and purchased the Kontronik Jive 120HV esc. Spent almost 600.00 for the unit, but in reading the reviews, it looks very promising.

I felt a sense of relief taking the fire hazard off my machine.

Kontronik is cool but rather overpriced and they're no longer the only game in town with reliable esc's. I was watching Ben Storick fly his Scorpion the other day and it is super smooth and the governor works a trick.

I use the Hobbywing 120HV and it has been a good esc, my only qualm is the softstart is not as nice, but for the price it works great in flight, doesn't burn up and doesn't make me eat top ramen for a month to be able to afford it haha. I have a problem with a single piece of equipment costing the price of a kit, lol.

I have had a few castles and no thanks.
Still buyin' and flyin' then crashing and cryin'

Trust me, I know what you mean. The CC 110HV is around 230.00 brand new. On that note, just go the classifieds, and see how many CC esc are up for sale. Go to YouTube, and type in "Castle Creations fire". Go to Google and type in "Castle Creations fire".

I know 600.00 is expensive for an esc, but I have way too much money in my 800e to see it fall out of the sky because of a esc.

I have to agree considering I paid $500 for my T-Rex 500 BNF

Also agree but I still don't think I could pop on $600 for an ESC unless it had magical healing benefits or something

I have over $4,000.00 invested in my cameraship. I will not lose it from an esc.

$600 is easy to spend, especially if the camera ship is making you money. Know what I mean?

The konk is expensive, the only other alternative for me is the Scorpion ESC's. Not as pricey and been extremely reliable in my experience.fly til its dry

Ben,

You and I have had many discussions about the CC and Kontronik. Making the switch was a good thing. Thank you for all your help Dr!

Does the Scorpion ESC also need a BEC like Castle's?
