whiplash e - what batteries
Ordering batteries for the whiplash that is on its way and
trying to choose the best fit and function on a budget:

zippy compact - 688g 5000mah 161L/46H/43W 25c-35c $51.39
Zippy reg. - 834g 5000mah 153L/51H/53W 40c-50c $63.39
Rhino - 730g 4900mah 173L/50H/42W 25c-37c $68.47
Turnigy - 836g 5000mah 150L/49H/52W 40c-50c $75.99
Voltz - 746g 5100mah 156L/45H/52W 35c-70c $114.99
Gens Ace - 752g 139L/43H/63w 30c-60c $88.00 on sale

will all these fit? Anyone using any of these with good success?
Best choice for whiplash 12s and why?

before you ask: yge-120hv esc, 700mx-530kv motor, radix 710v2 blades
I fly Sport with mild 3D. But will stick bang every once in a while, plus I like to go fast!!!!

I just sold my 550e using zippy 40c and was very pleased with that setup..... not sure if they will fit this heli or not (dont have heli yet)

You want shorter packs. They balance better than longer packs. The best are tp6s long configuration packs. You can slide the lower pack forward.

The GensAce 5300's fit well, and you can put them in between the frames without taking the canopy off.
The Turnigy/Zippy are a very tight fit.
The will work, but be patient.

I bought 2 Turnigy Nano Tech from HK 5000mah 6s, they fit perfectly and perform very well! When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No-one has ever collided with the sky.

I have actually not had great luck with nano tech's in the past.... I was running the 5000 45-90c in the 550e and they started puffing at 60 flights +/-, the zippys have 70 +/- and no puffing and are almost 1/2 the price!

have been flying the gens ace packs and I am very pleased, I flipped the botom tray and relocated the chassis crossmember forward to the exact balance point, now I just slip 'em in and all the way forward against the relocated cross brace and strap em in... works great and balances great.............

Now I also tried a 700mx-480kv with 14t pinion and it is nice with 5:30 flight times at 85% gov., but I am teetering on going back to 530kv with 13t for more snappy head speed but hate giving up flight time....HMMMM maybe an xera in my future????

does anyone have flight times with xera 4035/2.5y-480kv or 4535-500kv
with the YGE and what throttle percentage? Pinion? MAH use per minute?

Whiplash E Batteries
I have 2 Whiplah E's one with KDE 495 and one with Scorpion 4525 LE.
The KDE definitely is more powerful and runs cooler. Both are running CC ICE HV 120's V2 and CYG 710 blades. Getting 5 minutes of moderate 3d and big air not smack with 1950 headspeed and using just over 3000 mah so using just over 1200 mah per minute.
Using Nanotech 4400 packs and TP 4400 packs. So far neither have puffed and have 30-40 flights on each pack.
I put the front pack on the tray down low and pushed forward under the servo and the rear pack I put up high. It works great and CG is fine.
These Whiplash E's are big powerful and have a prescence like no other heli. Very smooth and maintenace free so far.
Yes to Miniature. Like my Furion 6's and Fury 55's too.
When is the Nitro coming? My feeling is that the 4400's are a better fit and lighten the heli up a little.

^^^ thanks for the reply this is Exactly what I needed to hear!! I love the non crazy high headspeed, use the same blades and have the same batteries. I often wonder if it would be better to have the order the batteries in the "long" configuration. I still need to decide on a motor, but the Scorpion LE motor seems very efficient. What pinion?

HS with the 480kv is around 1900 at my current setting, I am running rail 696 blades currently and they do rather well...

in my opinion 500kv would be the perfect setup
